Bring The Rain

What a Mighty God we serve believers! The Lord is good all the time and how excellent is His name. I pray that wherever you are that you call upon Him and praise his name just because He is Who he says he IS.

This is one of those rainy days when it’s typical of me to feel drained and lacking energy but oh no! What joy the Lord has placed in my heart today for his eyes are upon his beloveds; His children. He has given me a set of of spiritual eyes and ears as well as a sensitive spirit to speak to the heart of those seeking Him. I try not to be on my on schedule everyday without consulting with the Lord first so though I thought I was going to do something else, he directed me elsewhere. Through the Word, the Holy Spirit speaking to me, praise and worship music all I could do was lift up my hands and said Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God Almighty! One of my favorite songs by a christian band MercyMe is called Bring the Rain. Well it actually rained too in the literal sense! ( is still is by the way ) This songs talks about drawing nearer to God through everything that one could ever go through if it brings them closer to Him to bring him glory.

It’s those storms, dark valleys, heartbroken days, loneliness, depression, stumbling blocks, times of crying over situations and matters of the heart that seems as if light will never come and joy will never be restored. If difficult times is what is takes to draw me, draw you closer to Him then Bring the Rain dear Lord. It’s temporary and it will not last forever. There is always something to learn during such times as this. Count it joy when you go through. God is working something new in you. Will you catch on and run with it? We are clay in the hands of The Potter.

What’s a little rain compared to the beauty, the everlasting change in Christ we can have if we just humble ourselves before him and let the shaping of our Lord work in us. He knows what is in our best interest and it’s His love for us that looks past and beyond our sins, our guilts and shames that we tend to hold onto when He forgave us. He took our sins to the Cross. It’s finished! It’s done! Stop holding on to the things that He has set us free of. We are in bondage no more! Be free to live for the Lord. As long as we are on this earth, we will go through some rainy days. What matters is how we handle those those days. How we react, what comes forth out of our mouths makes a difference. Praise Him through the rain! God had not forgotten about you or your circumstances! Lean not to your own understanding my friends! Bask in the Presence of the Lord! He is our joy, our sunshine, our peace. Be still and know that He is Lord!

Take the time and be STILL. Allow Jesus to speak to your heart today. See what it is that he has to say to you. As the rain falls, it brings growth and a time of change and renewal. It cleanses your heart so you can see more clearer. Take a deep breath…. let go and let God have his way in you.

” Father God, I ask in the name of your Son Jesus that you touch the heart of those seeking you, those looking for brighter days ahead. Give them what they need to make it another day. May Your love, strength, peace and comfort be with them in the middle of their walk. Let them know that they are not alone. You are very present in their time of need. I thank you for blessing us all and giving us a new day to make a difference in how we choose to live. May it all be for Your glory. Amen. “

Please take a listen to this song below and listen to the words. Hope it blesses you just as much as it does me.

we all have a lot to learn from each other, I am thankful for my friends who know the truth of that statement. Thank you for the love you give, sister to sister, and know that the Holy Spirit is strong in you when you speak God’s word, it does not fall on deaf ears and you are not casting your pearls before swine. I am blessed that you have seen my heart and that I can see yours. God IS awesome! -watw

    • I couldn’t agree more! We all have something to learn from each other. No one has the total package. That is why God brings us into fellowship with one another to lift each other up. Everyone has something different to bring to the table. We all walk in different seasons in our Christian journey. It’s a blessing getting to know you. We are sisters in Christ indeed.

    • What a blessing! Thank you for such wonderful and inspiring words Robin. I’m happy to hear that you could feel as if I was speaking directly to you. Wow…. this is an amazing moment for me because the rain has poured a little more on me at times. To know that through it I am pressing forward encouraging my brothers and sisters in Christ is what I will continue to do! If you never heard of MercyMe or their music, please look up the song. I can’t help but cry out and thank the Lord for drawing me, drawing you all closer to him through our ” Rain “. What music to my soul this is tonight! I praise Him for touching you all through my post. If you could only feel the emotions I was feeling the day I wrote it. I wouldn’t stop until I was done pouring my heart out and my prayers for you all. God is awesome.

  4. Thank you Terra for sharing from your heart, and for your prayers of compassion and Love, somehow just knowing you remember me in prayer is such a comfort. I agree with your heart focus, suffering when used by God for good strengthens us, it is not His will we suffer but as you affirmed, Jesus shared we will have trouble in this world … Some say Laugh and the world laughs with you Cry an you cry alone but Jesus tells us come to me all you who are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Its not about being Happy Clappy …. we can have His deep abiding inner Joy even when we have a tear in our eye. Jesus was known as a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, He walked among the living dead, He knew their destiny, thankfully we don’t but we grieve to see as you said Terra, Children suffering, Injustice and cold-heartedness. Laugh and the world laughs with you cry an you cry alone… they are really saying I can’t be bothered.

Unless we have Compassion for ourselves we won’t have it for others….God feels our pain, He bore our shame, so we could be whole again.

    Christian Love Anne.

    • Anne, it’s such a wonderful feeling to know that we can run into the arms of our Savior who understands the pain we endure, the tears we shed and the heavy hearts we bear. Even when the world turns their back on us, we can ALWAYS count on Him to be there for us through the good and bad. He is our best friend with a love outpour that is unconditional. Can’t get any better than than.

      Blessings to you,

      Terra

  6. Amen Sister!

As humans we naturally try to find the “easy way out.” But sometimes the hard road is the easiest way out.

You wrote, “We are clay in the hands of The Potter.” 🙂 We sure are! We must remember that He always comes to our rescue, sometimes calming the storm and sometimes calming His child in the storm.

    God Bless you!

    • Thank you Sister! Your last statement gave me goosebumps because it stands to be true. How I thank Him for calming the storm as well as calming us during the storms. There’s always something to learn in the rain.

      God bless you too! 🙂

  7. Amen! Thank you, Terra.

Lord, thank you for the rain! Thank you for hard days, struggles and trials. Thank you for using everything for your good! Let the rain wash me and refresh me. Let it be water that makes your seed of love grow and bear fruit within me. You are a God of seasons. You know exactly what I need when. I yield to you so that I may yield a harvest in the proper time. Help me to meditate on your word. Fill me with your Spirit! I praise your holy name! To you be the glory now and forever, Jesus! Amen.
