Invitation to the thirsty: Take me to the King

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. (John 6:35 NIV)

There is a constant struggle of the mind and flesh to live right. Pressure arises from east to west, north to the south. There’s no escaping when we sit in the hope and trust of man. We will constantly be thirsty wanting more and more of this worlds offerings. We will never be content in relationships, content within ourselves, content with our thoughts, content with where we are financially. We are chasing what we do not have…..

The enemy will lie and distract you from going to the Lord to declare what you are in need of, to repent to Him of the transgressions you have committed; the sins that keep you separated from communing and having a meaningful relationship with the Holy One.

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. (Luke 11:9, 10 NKJV)

Even those in Christ endure hardships and can fall away or even merely distance themselves when they fall short of God’s mercy and grace. The enemy stays busy. He will not relent. Do not allow lies to deceive you into thinking that you cannot turn back to the Lord after doing wrong, to feel that you will never be good enough, that you will not be on the same level as other believers and followers of the Lord. These are lies.

Jesus Himself was tempted by the evil one but He sinned not. ( Hebrews 2:18, 4:15, Matthew 4:1-11)

Stand guard and be prayerful at all times.

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Hebrews 4:16 NIV)

Someone will always have better, greater or less than. Whatever it may be that we long for, we are chasing after it. It’s a busyness that leads to nowhere. We are too busy trying to keep up with “The Joneses”, too busy trying to outdo others, too busy scheming and hustling to make way for our light to shine.

We become so caught up in ourselves while failing to realize that we will never be content or happy right where we are.

Now I’m not saying that we cannot have great material wealth and gain but there should be balance. Are we sharing with those who have less or are we harboring the blessings God gave us? Nothing we have came by chance or luck. God blessed you and I. No amount of worldly wisdom and gain will bring much fortune if Jesus Christ is not the center of your life.

This fortune I speak of is spiritual. Worldly fortune will pass and be remembered no more. Spiritual wealth is for eternity.

Emotional turmoil will have you closing off your thoughts. Like a bottle of shaken up soda, it eventually will burst. You try to twist the cap off but with no avail, not much takes place. Frustration and anger, depression and hopelessness begin to face you. This is because you are working in your own strength.

Someone greater, Someone stronger and wiser is needed. His name is King Jesus.

Take all that you are and all that you are not to the throne. Only Jesus can fix you. Only He is able to heal you, repair you, mend your brokenness, provide stability in your life in how you think and act.

It’s time to stop chasing the wind. It’s time to stop chasing after meaningless things of this world. They are not conducive. Jesus is.

If you know you thirst for righteousness and are looking for peace, Jesus is the answer. He is the Great Physician. Allow Him to come into your life and heal you beginning right now.

Do not put off this very moment. Stop fighting and debating within yourself. Stop reasoning within your mind. Stop reasoning with society. Satan wants nothing more than to destroy you. He will continue to rob you of peace if you allow him to.

If He (Jesus) has come into my life and saved me from myself many times over, I know and I believe with all of my heart that He can do it for you too!

Salvation awaits you today. Will you accept the Invitation?

“but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”(John 4:14 NKJV)

  1. God is worthy today, and for eternity. We are nothing without Him. It is a tug of war each day, but if we keep to the ten commandments we will experience an inner peace. I have found that inner peace with Him, and the world it is just a temporary tent to try and distract me. I shall keep my eyes on the Lord, at all times and my heart in alignment with righteousness no matter the pain.

I will forgive and show love even when others are not showing love, but bitterness and lost in their own thoughts of malice. It can sometimes be trying, but God is faithful and I to Him. So yes, I will await for my King….for He is worthy today, and for eternity. I love you Terra and thank you for sharing your heartfelt prayer with thirsty souls.

    • Amen Amen and Amen. Our God is worthy from the past, present and future. He does not change and His love is everlasting.

I love you too Shenine. God has brought us a mighty long way. The roads we travel can only grow in His promises. May we always keep looking up and trusting in all we think, say and do.

Let’s stay thirsty in Christ. God bless you my sister!

      Hugs!

  2. Beautiful post! Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. If we love the world and the things of the world the love of the father is not in us. May our hearts turn toward God. May we each be willing to submit to Him and accept Him not only as our Savior, but as Lord of our lives. Thank you for sharing.

    • Thank you very much Liz! I am thankful for the inspiration from the Holy Spirit. I am nothing without the Lord. I send out an Amen as you have contributed to blessing the message with words of truth from our Savior. Bless the Lord for being our help!

  5. Terra, I really enjoyed your article it really encouraged me and agree wholeheartedly when you said , “take all that you are and all that you are not, to the throne.” I so often think we become focussed on the, all that we think we are not and fail to take all that we are !

    Blessings
    Ron

    • I am glad that you enjoyed the post Ron. I could not agree more with you about our focus. We do tend to focus on what were are not more than what we are. God makes good use out of His creations and will show us all that we can be through Him.

      Bless you too!

  6. Hi Terra thank you for this wonderful reassurance, we do indeed have weaknesses and shortcomings, perhaps I have more then most but I rejoice in the Truth that as Born again Christians we are God’s chosen Spiritual Israelites’ the Children of the Promise, Jews in order of heritage meaning co -hires with Jesus, we are……

But ye are a chosen Generation, a Royal Priesthood, an Holy Nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light; Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; ( 1Peter 2: 9-11 KJV )

    • You are welcome Anne. How faithful, merciful and gracious is He Who bore our sins and washed us clean. We are a work in progress always striving to live righteous before Him. He is our very present help in times of need, in our weakness and our brokenness. What a mighty strength we have in our Savior.

To the throne we lay it all before Him.

God bless you sister. I pray all is well with you. Christian love to you as well….

      Terra

      • Hi Terra, I’m fine but where have you been, did you ask my permission to take time off, I sent you an e-mail but didn’t hear, I was worried about you, Hmmmm do you mean I did all that worrying for nothing?

Anyway in response to your reply, yes how wonderful God no longer chooses to remember with retribution our past sins and we have been set free from the slavery of sin in Christ Jesus but we are to put our flesh nature to death as it causes us to sin, we can then walk as Jesus walked in Holiness’ and righteousness, the Scripture tells us ( see below) when we are Born again we don’t sin … How good is that! but as I shared before we still have weaknesses and shortcomings which sadly are often confused for sin.

1 John 3:9 No one who is Born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been Born of God.

Colossians 3:1-17 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

      • Hi Anne!

I am so sorry for the delay in replying to you and those who wrote comments. I received your email but somehow I accidentally deleted it as I was trying to clean my inbox out.

I surely did not mean to have you worry about me but I have been thankful and grateful that you cared enough to check up on me. I simply was in too much pain to do much physically but I did pray and thank God for you knowing that I would soon get in contact with you. It’s hard typing with my left hand but I am taking my time.

Just to update you here it goes:

I dislocated my shoulder and I have been in pain for some time now. It has been hard operating with one arm ( I injured my dominant side ) as well as coping with pain and not sleeping well. I also was dealing with some other stuff so I could only step away and rest in the Lord.

The Lord has been comforting and guiding me. I woke up this morning with a refreshing that’s beyond understanding. I praise Him for keeping me through it all.

Thank you for commenting back and adding the scriptures as they were some that I had read as well. It is the will of the Lord that His word goes out in strength and not in void.

        Glory to the Highest!

Love you much in Christ ❤

  10. Hi Terra, I was not really upset with you, as I said I was concerned and yes I know what you mean by the Inbox, I found 3 e-mails today that I hadn’t answered and some Posts that I wish I had commented on and the same yesterday but perhaps with some it’s too late now, anyway I’m so thankful you are feeling better, have you tried God’s Balm that I sent you the recipe for ? it has helped many people including me in a Miraculous way but of course it is only a Tool that God uses like the mud on the mans eyes that Jesus used and the Balm that the Priests used, God is the only healer.

Take care my dear Sister, I will keep you in prayer,

    • Hi Anne, I know that you were not upset but merely concerned and I thank you. I did not come across the email but I know of God’s balm. He is our Healer and how thankful I am for His love and compassion towards us.

Thank you for your prayers and I will keep you in mine.

      Christian love,
      Terra
