“Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” (Romans 8:27 NKJV)

God is wonderful and amazing don’t you think? Actually don’t you KNOW?!! The sun goes up and goes down every day. The Creator of the heavens and earth gifts us not only with Life (Christ Jesus) but also with the wonderful things upon this earth that He spoke to be.
I took this raw and unedited picture above a little while ago today as I listened to the weather change course. It’s a rain and ice mixture falling down and it sounds like sand. It started to remind me of the countless granular of sand that our Almighty God placed on the earth. Only He knows exactly how many they are just like He knows the very hairs on our heads and every working cell inside our body. Again….. isn’t that amazing.
On a regular basis, we should ask the Lord to search our hearts. May He open us up and allow light to shine into the innermost parts of our being; of our spirit. We may not want the dark areas of our life to be seen but He sees them for they cannot be hidden. There are also lit areas that benefit our growth as well. Both can be used to lift and encourage another through our sufferings and through our joy.
To sit still and invite the presence of the Lord is a welcomed invitation to Him. There is nothing wrong with having some alone time with God even if it’s in the busyness of your day. Setting aside a more intimate time to dwell in His presence is even greater.
Scripture tells us in James 4:8 “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
I find this to be true because I have done so many of times.
Through some of the most simplistic ways God will meet you right where you are. Just quiet your spirit and listen.
Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. (Romans 8:27-30 NKJV)
Be still and KNOW that HE is GOD. (Psalm 46:10)
I hope that you enjoy the song just as much as I have. This is one my favorite songs. It really takes me to a place where it’s just me and God. Nothing around me can disturb me. As I lift up my heart, my hands and my voice, I surrender because without Him I am nothing. All that I am and all that I long for is in Christ. Nothing can be better than that.
Love and Blessings,
Terra
Excellent thoughts, Terra. Isn’t it wonderful to spend time alone with God. I love it when I can and it’s so refreshing. Thank you for sharing. God bless.
Thank you Steven. It is wonderful I agree to spend time. So much to soak up right? Blessings to you. Thank you for swinging through dear brother!
Another awesome post Terra, everything you wrote is so true. I really love this song too I have heard it on the radio before and found myself singing along loudly to God. I had never seen the video before it was great thanks for sharing it!
Praise The Lord! I am full of smiles. Your kindness warms my heart! This was my first time seeing the video but I listen to it as much as I can. It draws me in. 🙂
Hello, dear friend. Thank you for this. I love it. It makes me want to draw close…into the heart of our Father and to allow Him into the deepest places of my heart. Matthew 6:6 is what He keeps speaking to me this week…He keeps reminding me to come into the secret place with Him. Thank you for speaking His words today.
Hello back to you dear friend. You brought it home with Matthew 6:6 because that is where I have been. Praise The Lord above! I am so glad that this touched you. My words cannot fully express gratitude but I thank the Holy Spirit for speaking the utters of my heart.
Blessings to you Natalie…
Love this reminder… I want the Lord to have HIs way in my life… I want to follow Him all of my days!! Thanks Terra 🙂
Amen! You are welcome Edith. God bless you as you continue to draw nearer to Him everyday!
“Drawing Near” is my mantra for 2013. This wonderful post just affirmed this. God always knows where we are and what we need to hear, and he uses the most amazing people (like yourself) to express his heart. I have begun to linger in his presence, sometimes silent, sometimes a song or a whisper and it’s so incredible to know God is there welcoming every moment in his presence.
This is such a blessing and a time of refreshment to hear, Hannah. God bless you!! Wow…. I cease to be amazed by God and His works. While I am humbled that this post has touched you, your mantra for 2013 is so sweet to my heart. It’s endearing! Praise The Lord at all times!
Thank you so much for stopping by! I pray that you stop by again and I ask the Father to bless you, prosper you, renew and revive your spirit daily that as you stay in His presence in some form that you will gain a more intimate relationship with Him.
Prayers, love and blessings to you richly in Christ Jesus,
Terra

God bless you always!
Terra, what a beautiful blog! the room decorated like it is makes me want to sit in it! It must be heaven! Sitting still with God, reading his word, praying daily has completely renewed me. I have learned more doing that in my swivel chair in the mornings having a cup of coffee with God than I have ever learned anywhere else. BTW: I am on a new ultrabook and I love it God bless you!
Thank you so much Naphtali!! Amen to sitting with God spending time with Him! Having a swivel chair must be great! Sitting in the computer swivel chair is uncomfortable to me so I usually find myself balled up in an oversized chair with a cup of tea! Whatever works right?!! Many many blessings to you as you continue to draw near to Him. We need that bonding time with the Father!
Love, hugs and blessings always!
Love the room…wall murals, stencils.. awesome! Thank you for your present musings and your presence and support on my blog…noted, with gratitude.

I read your Twitter feed as well. The name fits very well I must say. May The Lord forever reign in your life and shower you with His mercy, grace, blessings and wisdom as you shine your light unto all men. Be blessed always and I look forward to being encouraged and lifted up through your musings as well.

Praise The Lord for His love endureth forever!!
Ahhh, an early seeker as well… smiling. Always open for hugs. I appreciate your spirit. Thank you!
Yes I am! (I also have to rise early to get my family up and out the door as well…) You are welcome for the hugs. A smile, a heart to encourage and open arms delights my heart. God gave them to me so I tend to wake up cheerful and grateful for a new day!
Sounds like Proverbs 31 to me! I know the journey well. I’m a bit of an empty-nester with one in college…all the more reason to wake up with a praise on my lips. Thankful indeed…
Indeed! Lol. Though you are a bit of an empty nester, it is inspiring that you still arise early to seek The Lord. There’s nothing like getting before Him early to set the foundation for the day mentally. I will soon have my first born in college this summer Lord willing. 4 more to follow after her so it will be a little while before the nest is empty. 🙂
Absolutely, its a good habit.
