Nothing Else Matters

When we look over our lives and the things we have attained……Nothing else matters.

wp-1490884297363.jpg

Success of having a house, the glorious career, increase in wealth, college degrees, where you stand amongst your colleagues, and peers, spouse and children do not matter if you don’t have Jesus. The same applies even when we have less or not at all.

Above all else having Christ Jesus is the greatest, most treasured and valuable asset you could ever have in your life and He should matter the most. What we attain beyond having Him are just additional blessings.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. Colossians 1:15‭-‬18 NKJV

We live here on this side of heaven temporarily. It’s not our permanent dwelling nor the treasures that we store up and collect here on Earth. Do we truly realize the importance of how we place people and possessions in relation to our lives? Greatest to the least.

It’s something to think about and process. Dare I say that the order of what we think is most important in our lives should be switched around? Indeed I do.

Believe me when I say that I love my husband and children and all that the Lord has given me but I am nothing without Him. All mankind will perish (unless you’re swept up when He comes back) and every treasure rotted out or forgotten but our relationship with the One who saved us from perishing is eternal.

How wonderful that is to know and live out. Our hope, faith, joy and fulfillment is found in God alone. It does not matter how much we try to build, grasp, achieve and succeed at if He is not the center of it all. Every hole that’s empty we will always try to fill up to make us feel better and bring a sense of completion and yet we are not ever full. This is how we humans are. Never full, never satisfied UNTIL we come into realization that we have it all, we have EVERYTHING we could ever need once we place the King of kings and the Lord of lords first and foremost in our lives.

May today’s thoughts and God’s truths speak volumes into your life. Ask Him to help you prioritize the order of your living for you cannot fail. What you will be is full, satisfied and successful in Him. Stay in the Holy Word, prayed up, extending a helping hand and loving others all of your breathing days.

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. II Corinthians 9:8 NKJV

Nothing Else Matters But Jesus

This Christmas: Praying for the Nations

This Christmas…

Praying for the Nations and how the Lord will lead His people to bless them, to share the Gospel with those lost, those walking in darkness and many who chosen to reject the Truth.

This day, this hour, this season.

Pray. Seek. Ask. Listen

Oh how my heart yearns for the salvation of many this day, this Christmas season. Jesus is the greatest gift any person can receive that will last and stands the test of time. He will not fade, there is no new program or upgrade. He’s the same past, present and future. The latest and greatest gadgets, fashion and material possessions will be forgotten. Some will attain such things and some will not. Are they really worth stressing over this holiday season? No, but it’s done anyway.

My heart is for the Nations. I can’t help but pray and seek guidance in what to do. My mind travels to far away places wondering what groups of peoples have never ever heard the name Jesus. Have never ever heard the Gospel or given the opportunity to receive the gift of salvation.  Many will perish because of lack of knowledge, many will perish because they choose to not receive. How this hurts my heart.

Some nights and days I have to just go before the Lord pleading with Him over such people. I literally begin to feel my eyes well up with tears for those I have never laid eyes on let alone know where they live. I care. I can’t help but care because when this life ends we all will be somewhere for eternity.

Jesus Prays for All Believers

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;  that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.  And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:  I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.  O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me.  And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” John 17:20‭-‬26 NKJV

Sharing this message with you all was just presses upon my heart. What you do after reading it is between you and the Father. Many lives are at risk. While it’s a personal decision one must make to take that step of faith to receive salvation we that belong to the Kingdom can play an active role somehow right where we are. I desire to do missionary work afar off but it may not be my season. Perhaps my work can be done right here where I live. The homeless, the women and children who are prostituted that begin to accept this life as acceptable, those on their death beds, those living a life of crime, those living for gods that are false. Many are spiritually blinded with hardened hearts and deaf ears. Oh that the scales would come off.

Today is just a raw moment to wear my heart on my sleeve and ask each and every one of you to pray and see what the Lord speaks to you, to see how you can take part in a matter that truly makes one appreciate the Life given to us so that we can be a part of His family.

Forever.

So let’s all pray for the Nations so that they too can be a part of the family. To celebrate Christmas for what and Who it’s really about.

From my heart to yours with love,

Terra

Give Unto the Lord this Hour

How blessed we are to reach a new day with endless possibilities. Not by our own might but by the grace of God. It is He who chose to breathe life into us on this present day.

May we praise Him and give thanks even if our bodies are tired and dragging, if it’s aching from muscle and joint pain, or perhaps even our flesh is not cooperating because it’s just not in the “right mood”.

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalms  34:1 NKJV

It’s not about how we feel. Feelings sway like the waves in the ocean. We should posture ourselves in such a way that we come to realize that nothing is about us. There is no you or me without Him. He’s Holy, Righteous, The One, Abba Father, I Am, faithful, merciful, gracious, loving, caring, patient, forgiving and a list of so many more things. You get me?

So once we get out head and heart positioned we can begin to give reverence to The Almighty God, our Creator. He is worthy of praise, honor and glory.

I’ve had to put myself in that position many of times especially when my spirit is willing but my flesh is weak. (Matt.26:41) Once we begin to pray and worship the Lord, our focus changes. But we must press through. We must. Know that the flesh will always try to speak louder to us however it may be to keep us from doing what we know that we ought to.

Dear hearts, I just wanted to take a coffee/tea break moment to share with you some nuggets of Truth. The weather and season may be changing right now wherever you are living. I know that cooler nights and mornings may cause you to feel more tired but let us shake up our inner man and arise so that the outer man will be obedient and follow.

We have work to do! I’m not just referring to the vocation you may have but to your work of the Lord. We are here on this Earth temporarily and time is of the essence. May we use it wisely always remembering that someone is standing in the need of prayer and salvation.

Be blessed and be a blessing to someone today with the joy of the Lord upon you!

Living Simply in Abundance

wp-image-906089345jpg.jpg

Me. Jesus. Prayer. Green Tea.

Living Simply in Abundance with the Lord. Nothing complicated at all. Cast your cares aside and share some much needed time with Him.

Watch, listen tentatively and be still.

Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.
Ps 143:8 NKJV

Exhale right now… everything else will still be there. Quiet the busyness spinning through your head.

At the end of the day (or your time set aside to spend with Him) you will realize that you actually had all that you needed to get your day started. Every little thing after that will just fit into your day as planned when He’s put first on the schedule.

Have a wonderful day in Jesus from my heart to yours,

At His Feet : A time of prayer

image

O Lord , You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there  is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord , You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are  there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to  You.
Psalms 139:1-12 NKJV

It’s the beginning of a new year and I am so thankful to the Lord that I’m here yet another day. Here for a purpose greater than my own thinking can imagine. You too.

We’ve all had our share of joys and sorrows, defeats and victories, open doors as well as closed ones, storms and sunny days.  So while there may have been times when we have wanted to throw in the towel and give up, the Lord didn’t. He knows that we can make it. Just another little push to encourage the heart to keep going.

At. His. Feet. (sigh)

Prayer time because we need You Lord. All day every day. Emotions come and go and there is no surety that we are right but we can stand assured knowing that God is right. All the time.

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21 NKJV

At His feet when decisions are needed to be made, but most importantly to desire to draw closer to Him. He’s the lover of our souls, the I Am who’s able to meet us right where we are and talk. To hear us out as we also take the time to hear Him.

No greater friend we have than in He. The Lord is not just anyone. He’s our Father, Daddy, Jehovah Jireh (our Provider ), Counselor, Peace – maker, Creator and our all in all just to name a few.

While 2015 has had its share of trials we can rest assure that coming into 2016 that the Lord is still beside us. Still wanting us, desiring intimacy with us, still patient and loving as we long to have brighter days attempting to do this life on our own terms at times. He knows us better than we know ourselves so how about a new change this year?

Less of self and more of Him.

At His feet praying and drawing near.

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8a)

Happy New Year to you dear reader. I pray that you take time daily to reflect on your life and how it’s being used for the glory of God. Some did not make it but we have been counted to be here for another day and with a greater purpose than just coasting through it. The Lord loves you more than you can ever know. May the passing days be filled with love, mercy, hope, grace, perseverance, and all things related to the Fruits of the Spirit so that we can not only show the Love of Christ to others but to be a living example of His presence and faithfulness. Prayer is key these days more than ever. Much can be accomplished when we do it.

Be blessed, encouraged and filled with His joy always,

Terra 🌼

Time to Rest Your Soul

image

For the weary heart ….. come sit and talk to the Master. Jesus is He who sustains us. Life will bring us cloudy days, turbulent winds and foggy outlooks that will have us to think that we cannot go beyond what we see out of fear.

Be still.

I know all too well this feeling. I too, must trust the Lord with the unknown. You and I cannot allow our souls to be rocked with fear and anxiety but be filled with truth, belief and faith in our Lord who says that he will not leave us nor forsake us.

Be still.

Take hold of His hand and allow his peace to come over you. Pray and seek Him for all its worth. Encourage yourself in the Lord. Speak praises unto the Father until the roof comes down. Remember that the enemy wants nothing more than to choke you out with fear. Fear that will immobilize you to not pray to the Father. Let this not be so. God is greater than the enemy. The victory has already been won!

Get up and shout with a voice of triumph….Hallelujah!

“I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus! He strengthens me for each day and because of Him I can face what’s in front of me.”

Keep hope and your heart in the hands of Jesus. He loves you enough to meet you right where you are. Invite Him to come sit and talk with you. You won’t be disappointed. It’s time to refresh your soul.

Blessings and encouragement from my heart to yours.

5 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;my hope comes from him.

6 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

7 My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.

8 Trust in him at all times, O people;pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. “Selah”

For A Time Such As This

unnamed

Waking up to a new day full of possibilities.

So while some grab coffee, I grab chamomile tea, one of my favorite mugs and the Living Word desiring to draw closer to the Lord this day.

Giving my mind and heart over to Him to lead and guide my day because I need it. Yes. I really do. Have Your way Lord.

Continuing on through the Book of Esther which happens to be one of my favorite stories about women in the Bible and the significance of what their roles were in which God already had a plan.

“…… Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”Esther 4:14 NKJV

What’s my purpose today? A question we all can ask ourselves since quite frankly, we are living to walk out another day.

See this life we live as believers and followers of Christ makes our living not of our own will, of our own plans, but His. What is our purpose today? While we can make today about us, our families and our busy filled schedules are we seeking to do His will? I mean… are we willing to change our plans and operate in His?

Of course the Lord knows that we have  obligations and responsibilities but we have such a greater task to carry out. Meeting the needs of others.

Yes, sometimes doing so will test our faith, take us out of our comfort zones and cause us to become uneasy but we have been commissioned for greater.

The Lord may not be asking us to save a nation but He’s calling us to step out and do what’s necessary. Lives are on the line. Death comes daily. Salvation is needed like the air we breathe.

Whatever your “come into the kingdom for a time such as this” is, there is purpose for why your heart is being pricked. Your conscience won’t let you rest no matter how you try to dance around it.

It’s time to shake things up. It’s time for the Love of Christ to extend to those in need. So whether you tell someone today that Jesus loves them, you open up your doors to start a ministry, you give of your time and finances to the poor, the widows, the sickly and dying someone needs you whether they realize it or not. You are the vessel needed to pump life into the veins of the hungry.

The seeds you plant today have a purpose. God is the Rainmaker with a plan. What will you do with your gifts and talents given to you by our Father? It’s not by chance that Queen Esther won the heart of the king. The Lord orchestrated it all. All she had to do was  trust the Lord enough to follow through even if it cost her.

For a time such as this, we will never know the blessings to come if we sit back and do nothing.

Dear hearts I am asking each one of you to think on the goodness of the Lord and all that he’s done in your life and in the lives of many you know. Take a few minutes or more if you’d like. The Word gives us so much encouragement. We see how obedience pays off and what happens when we don’t. We do not honor the Lord when we choose to disobey. I know that doing something new can be a little scary but we must remember that God is with us. Let us keep the faith and encourage one another in Christ Jesus .

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 NKJV
