Who knows what lies ahead before you but God. You can be a risk taker by walking up to the door, opening it and walking through. Standing there won’t do much.
Faith without works is dead.
Like Esther, we can choose to do something about a situation we are faced with whether it’s good or bad.
Stepping out into unfamiliar territory can be scary. Even fearful. Ok maybe out of sheer laziness you just don’t want to do it. How about you are simply procrastinating. Raise your hand if I’m taking to you! (I raised mine.)
For a time such as this you may be called out to reach out to an enemy to bless them and pray for them.
For a time such as this the Lord may be calling you out to do a home Bible study, start a mens/womens ministry, go into the mission field where it may be dangerous. Thinking about giving up on love after a messy divorce? He can restore that calloused heart back to one that’s softened to one day bless with you that future spouse that was meant for you.
I can list a number of scenarios but the question that remains is: will you do it? Will you step forward no matter the cost? If God has called you to it He will equip you to get you through it. The Lord had a friend speak into my life many of times about some things and I kept brushing them off. I began to get the same things spoken into my life from others who didn’t know. The Lord even began to speak to me through devotionals.
I was like “Are you serious?!!”
I thank God that He’s loving, kind and patient. He won’t give up on you and the purpose for why He chose you.
God can do all things but fail. Trust Him even when you can’t see what will happen next. It’s not faith when you can see it. Step forward even if you are afraid to. If I can you can too.
Obedience is key. We will never know the impact that can be made in someone’s life if we choose not to move. I encourage you to move forward even if you have to do it afraid .
Blessings to you,
No matter what version you read it in it still points to Christ right down to the letter “t”.

Be encouraged dear brothers and sisters of mine. If we belong to Jesus we can do all things in His strength no matter what it may be.
God bless you always,
I love those who love me, And those who seek me diligently will find me.“The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old. I have been established from everlasting, From the beginning, before there was ever an earth. When there were no depths I was brought forth, When there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills, I was brought forth; While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, Or the primal dust of the world. When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He drew a circle on the face of the deep, When He established the clouds above, When He strengthened the fountains of the deep, When He assigned to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth, Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him, Rejoicing in His inhabited world, And my delight was with the sons of men.“Now therefore, listen to me, my children, For blessed are those who keep my ways. Hear instruction and be wise, And do not disdain it. Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord ; But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death.”(Proverbs 8:17, 22-36 NKJV)
A few days ago I was reading this chapter in the Book of Proverbs and I was totally drawn in.
Wisdom is far better than anything we desire or obtain. No riches, fame or glory can compare. That’s something deep to ponder. Just think about that for a moment.
Nothing is greater to have than wisdom. It can save us from many disasters that can be avoided. It can also bless us in ways we would not even expect. Anything is possible with the Lord when just adhere to his truths and ways . King Solomon asked for wisdom when the Lord appeared to him in a dream.
At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?” And Solomon said: “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?” The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. Then God said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.” (I Kings 3:5-14 NKJV)
C’mon now… he was just a kid! And he asked for wisdom?!! Just look at what the Lord did in his life. He gave him wisdom and some. A lot of it actually.
Who wouldn’t want godly wisdom? Well a foolish person wouldn’t of course. But really, who would not want wisdom. I personally asked the Lord for it. Not that I would obtain riches or anything but that I would have a mindset to live right, make decisions that were pleasing to Him, to be help to others any way that I could. It’s not about me. It’s about Him and I can’t see any other reason behind desiring to have it.
In the book of James he says: If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.( James 1:5-8 ESV)
Stated in the passage above in Proverbs, Wisdom was already present before the world was formed. “The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old. I have been established from everlasting, From the beginning, before there was ever an earth. Proverbs 8:22-23 NKJV
Are we making a connection here? Knowing what we know about the Father and what He had done with all that our minds can comprehend, wisdom existed. It already was! God had a master plan and his blueprints were ready to be put into motion. With that said, we have some pretty serious stuff going on. We have something to work with that’s worthwhile because it comes from above. This is godly wisdom. Not earthly. It’s already been approved by God to pass on to us if we desire to have it.
The Word tells to not be wise in our own eyes. (Proverbs 3:7, Romans 12:16) There is nothing profitable in worldly wisdom compared to what the Lord offers us. In this human flesh we reside in, the carnal thoughts that become lofty thinking that we know it all it can actually get us into trouble. We were born into sin and our flesh desires to do the opposite of the Spirit so we have to pray and fight and desire to do what right and holy.
Look at this:Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.(Isaiah 5:21 NIV)
When we start looking, examining and giving birth to worldly wisdom and taking our eyes off of what is right in the eyes of God we are setting ourselves up for trouble. Remember that the devil comes as an angel of light. He can make things appear like they are glitter and gold. Now I’m not blaming him for everything but what I am saying is that when we are not walking in the way of the Lord through his eyes and understanding, we give a foothold to the enemy to blind us to true wisdom that is from above. It’s not temporary. It’s everlasting from one generation to the next.
Thought I’d just share some thoughts on wisdom and my daily need of it for on this life journey of mine, I walk and stand in desperate need of Jesus. Dying to the flesh, dying to my way of thinking, knowing and understanding keeps me at the feet of the Savior.
He saved ME and he saved YOU. Let us not get it twisted for we can never ever save ourselves.
Choose today Wisdom that produces good fruit in your life. Look to the Lord for all your help, desires and needs. Watch, wait and see for He will provide.

O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me.
Psalms 63:1-8 NKJV
By the illustrated picture and scripture you can begin to understand what we may look like within when we are separated from the Lord. We should always thirst for Him and his righteousness, longing for His presence.
Thinking we can get by today and maybe tomorrow without Him passes your mind. Eh… let’s push it a whole week then stretch it a month or so. Perhaps stress begins to kick in a little more, you’re moody and not handling situations as you once have. There’s no peace at all. No sleep at night. Just tossing and turning becoming agitated at the littlest things.
Do you wonder why?
As I sat reading the Word, my mind began to wander. It was if I could clutch my heart from the inside and say “Lord please don’t let go! I can’t do everyday without You.” While it is not he who let’s go, it is us who begin to slip away.
Now I tend to look for things to snap a picture of to bring to life with my photography camera or phone time to time. So as I was reading the above scripture I had to find something outdoors. Didn’t take me long at all. (thank you Jesus)
Just a reminder that we must, I repeat must stay in constant fellowship with the Lord. There are days when we need to be “watered” a little more than others so that means getting up a little earlier before we start our day, using our lunch break to hang out with Him by ourselves rather than a co-worker and/or even turning the television off or whatever pass time you use to wind down (social media/gaming, etc..) to spend with Him. Gaining a refreshing is always a good thing. The longer we put this time off the more we dry out.
You don’t want to do this and neither do I.
Remember that laziness and procrastination will do nothing more than hinder and hurt us. So who doesn’t like to feel rejuvenated and at peace? Nobody but the devil who likes nothing but chaos, distraction, anger, fear, false peace and anything else that’s not of God to come from us and out of us. He is the father of lies. Now we can’t blame him for everything but we don’t want to help him out either. So let’s take each new day we are given by The Almighty and soak up and saturate our minds and lives with His living and active Word that is good and nourishing for our souls.
Stay thirsty my friend…
………………. reckless abandonment.
The exact words quenched my thirsty soul as if I was walking through a desert in search of water.
I found it. Or rather it found me in an email. Can you believe that?!! God has his own ways of getting our attention. Sometimes the most obvious ways I still don’t catch onto for some reason. I can say that I’m so glad that He doesn’t give up flagging me down.
For a while now I’ve been in prayer about some things seemingly never getting a reply. Countless times it’s been “God, here I am again asking for an answer” in so many words. No reply.
Time passes by, events occur and seasons change in a spiritual sense and yet I still kept asking. Not like an annoying bee buzzing around His face but like a child in need of answers that the heart is longing for. The ache just wouldn’t go away.
“Daddy, Abba Father do you hear me?”
Slowly my questions are being answered. Then again perhaps I missed some that were already answered but I became distracted by other things while in wait.
How easily I allowed myself to get distracted and caught up. Ugh. Frustration showed it’s ugly head and I struggled with sleeping, thinking and emotionally functioning. The problem is that I went down the wrong path in waiting. Shame on me.
Believe me when I say that I don’t always get it right but I thank the Lord for His indispensable grace. I thank him for patiently waiting on his child to get back on track. To get my focus back in line.
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105 KJV
Now it’s not that I have not been reading my Bible or praying because I have. My focus had been more on the storms than on the One Who calms the storm. (what revelation as I write this. Wow. Thank you Holy Spirit)
Reckless abandon to the Almighty in all my ways. I throw up my hands without a care for the opinions and thoughts of others simply because my loyalty should be to Him, his thoughts and desires for my life. I am to please Him. Not man. My worship, my praise, my prayer and my direction has been thrown into the loving arms of the Savior who beckons the call to my obedience. Whatever He says I’ll do. (prayerfully I am listening carefully and also obeying at all times)
Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord. Proverbs 8:32-36.
By no other means can I get to the Father except through Christ. By no greater means can I be comforted and guided than by the Holy Spirit. I stand in need at all times. May I never forget that.
Reckless abandon and feeling relieved.
Is this your story or can you relate? Dear heart I encourage you on in prayer to be relentless, to have reckless abandonment to the Lord in all your ways. He knows that we will struggle, that we will fall, become discouraged and even tire while waiting but in doing so I rather we err on the side of the Lord than to fall into complete sin never giving an ounce of faith or a seed of hope to He who is able to supply all of our needs. God will not leave or nor forsake us. It’s in the waiting that we grow and our intimacy can grow stronger if we just hold on and don’t give up. These last days are so important. Will we continue to trust and believe that His timing and answers are right for us. He knows what we need and when we need it. Keep holding on and stay steadfast in prayer.
Your sister in arms,
You know… I just can’t go a day without Jesus in my life. Every aspect of it. I have been singing “How He Loves Us” by David Crowder Band since around 6 a.m. On repeat. Oh how my body cries out in adoration of the King. The lover of my soul. Sweet Jesus. Praises I will sing all my days.
Sometimes reading or drinking my tea is hard to do when all that my body and soul craves for is worship. All I want to do is lift up my hands and give Him the glory and honor, to stand in awe of my Savior because he is jealous for me and His love is abounding.
Psalms 143:8 NKJV
Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.
Dear friends I encourage you today to give yourself in its entirety to the Lord. Allow Him to lead you and your day. Let His ways and thoughts become yours when you arise in the morning. If you accomplish nothing more than being before the Lord then you have done plenty. Too often we become consumed with this and that and forgetting about “the better part”. Spending time with I Am that I Am.
I tend to share often a scripture that I hold dear and it’s one that encourages me to see beyond my thoughts and plans because I know that God has far better for me. Plans that go beyond what I could imagine or see. He’s so amazing.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13 NIV
May today be a new day. One of better beginnings and endings. In Christ. We surely cannot go wrong…. I’ve tried Him for myself. Blessings and an abundance of love from me to you always.
Your Sister in arms,
Jesus Christ, our Solid Rock and stable foundation has given us every reason to keep the faith and to persevere. “He who promised is faithful.” He’s FAITHFUL!
Doesn’t that sound so good?. I don’t know about you but that revved my soul to press on even in tough times.
My God! I just thank You for such an encouraging word this day.
While it is easy to slack off from reading the Holy Word, praying and being in fellowship with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, we need it. We really do. Life can pass us by in a blink of an eye.
The Lord desires us to commune with Him and with others. We cannot stand on our own and we surely cannot make this journey without guidance, encouragement, hope and faith. We are in desperate need of His strength. We are in desperate need of Him.
Today’s scripture prompted a desire within me for I surely have slacked in being away from you all. While I have my church family here where I live, I desire to be in fellowship with you all and to do the Lord’s will and send a word of encouragement out to those who need it.
While I never want to walk in disobedience, I still strive daily to do the Father’s business that is set before me. I’m far from perfect. I’ve been reminded that some things are only for a season. When it’s time to let go…. it’s time to let go and move forward.
Our journey may we require us to stop and rest (and witness) for a while in a particular place but soon it’s time to pack up and keep going for each man’s road is not the same though we are prayerfully still headed in the same direction.
What I’m saying is to not give up and do not be deterred.
Be blessed and bless others for the Lord has shown favor to you this day and remember to encourage someone for we never know just how much a kind word or act can affect ones life.
With love and prayers always,
