What Are We Doing?

“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”
Colossians 3:1-2 NKJV

So…. what are you and I doing? Time has drawn near to 2019 ending. (keep reading please. I’m know it’s a new year!) I’m sure a lot has taken place in your life as well as mine but as I sit back I ask myself what am I doing. Have I wasted the days, weeks and months away fixated on things that are temporal? Life is short this we know and can swing past us so quickly. Challenges in finances, school, raising children, death of a loved one strikes suddenly when we least expect it, your fill in the blank list goes on and yet none of it is a surprise to God.

Are we fixing our eyes on things eternal? Are we fixated on doing the work set before us going into the world making disciples? What are we doing?
How easy it is to get caught up in meaningless things. Forgive my rant but I speak to myself in this moment.

Fast forward. It’s February 4, 2020 and I didn’t follow through in completing this post. See what I’m saying? What am I doing? Life happens and some things come unexpectedly but it cannot stop us from fulfilling the tasks set before us. God already saw the past, present, and future with you in it. Now what?!!

Those little small nudges will come in some form I believe from the Lord to let you know that He sees you and has not forgotten what was told to you. Sometimes those nudges comes in 3’s. (I can only speak for myself) Then again they can come in trails leading you right back to where you left off. Question is will you step out and get to moving.

Let nothing be left behind. Let not the gifts and talents He’s blessed us with go unseen or unused. They ultimately give Him the glory all while not only benefiting us through just being obedient but being a blessing to others through our stewardship. Will we allow life to continue to blow right past us forgetting what has been set before us and do nothing? Will we put others on the back burner knowing God has a plan for them too? We who are in Christ are certainly the hands and feet.

Let us triumph on in His strength, love and hope for today, tomorrow and the future until we reach our heavenly home. To God be there glory now and forevermore. Amen

Thank you Lord for all the little tender moments that You’ve shown in pushing us along. You know us better than we know ourselves and far more what we are capable of in You. Thank you for the Word of Truth (Bible) ,friends and family that spur us on. Blessed be Your name in heaven and earth.
