My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. (James 1:19, 20 NIV)
The Word tells us also:
•The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters; the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook.
•From the fruit of a man’s mouth his stomach is satisfied; he is satisfied by the yield of his lips.
•Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. (Proverbs 18:4, 20, 21 ESV)
So after chewing and digesting, how did it taste? Is it worthy to be spoken toward someone? Is it edifying or will it tear down? There are no “paybacks” if you are trying to tear someone down. Vengeance belongs to The Lord!
Think about it.
Good thoughts for me today. I have a tendency to taste a lot of shoe leather after a lot of my comments. These verses are for me. Thank you for a timely pep talk, Terra. God bless.
Amen! I’ve been there myself so this is humbling when we have a reminder from God about watching our mouths. Blessings to you brother Steven!
Thank you, Terra. Have a blessed day (night) in the Carolinas. Cold here. Supposed to be beautiful this weekend. Thanks for your love and encouragement. You are one of my favorite bloggers to chat with. Sometimes I feel as if we’re old friends and if we met in person, we’d carry on like we’d known each other for years. I’m going to bed now. Long day tomorrow, but I look forward to chatting again soon. God bless.
Another one of your on-time words, big-sister-in-Christ Terra! I’m sharing this. Thanks a lot and Keep blessing us with the Word!
Well thank you so much for reading it brother! I really appreciate you sharing it with others. God bless you richly. Hoping all is well with you and yours.
Love the photo attachment…definitely a reminder I needed!
Thanks Valerie!
