All I Need for Christmas is Jesus

I simply cannot explain these feelings that have been welling up in my soul lately as we approach Christmas. While Jesus is the reason for the season, like a flower blooming petal after petal, a swarming of love and adoration for Christ has covered me like an abundance of sweet honey reserved just for the best. Jesus Christ is our best. He is the greatest gift we could ever receive. Not just for Christmas, but for all time.

All I need for Christmas is Jesus.

Teaching my children why we celebrate Christmas is very important. While decorating for the holidays, giving and receiving gifts comes with tradition, the main focus is on Christ and His coming to earth in the form of man. (starting off as a baby of course). Lately I have being drawing closer to Him asking that my eyes be opened like never before and that my ears be tentative to my surroundings. Having a little talk with Jesus is like chicken noodle soup for the soul. That’s just my opinion.

I remember some years ago that I would become overwhelmed with the Christmas season approaching. It was more emotional than physical. I would become saddened and somewhat lethargic. I say this because my eyes were set on the wrong things and I was always “thirsty”.

I’m not one to do the Christmas shopping in my house for the most part. Thankfully it has always been my husband because no one would get anything most likely had it been left up to me to go out in the chaos and mass of people rushing, shoving, cursing and just flat-out been mean-spirited. Plus, I don’t have that kind of patience. Having 5 babies back to back kept me busy so it just became easier for my dear husband to do. I digress but for a moment!

My thoughts always went back to my childhood. While I had a pretty decent life growing up, I always felt something missing.

Jesus wasn’t there.

Feeling confused and happy at the same time was just weird. Plain old strange and yet I managed to get through another holiday season. I could not wait for the holidays to pass.

Recently, my heart was on a couple of senior citizens who were in need of some items that they needed. It was an article I caught in the newspaper that came from the aid of the Salvation Army. I told my husband about it and that I wanted to sponsor the people’s needs. While my eyes glazed over the many people young and old with a wish list, I wondered even more about those lost. The lost who needed Jesus; the very One who is our ever-present help, comfort and aid.

I began to cry. Not just because some cannot afford material needs and wants, but that many go lacking without a Savior. How often we walk daily without Him. As Christians and sinners alike ,but first as human beings, we find ourselves at times trying to do things on our own. We try to make things happen within our own power and might. We fix our eyes on higher prizes and treasures beyond our means. Some are just desires to want, want, want. Fleshly things. Things that will pass. Treasures that will not go with us on a U-Haul when we leave this old world.

Getting caught up over-shopping and over-spending will give anyone a headache and then possible regret for debt than may take a while to pay off when we “rob Peter to pay Paul”. That’s a saying I got from my Mom. Maybe you’ve heard of it before.

Nevertheless, we need peace and true joy. It can only be found in Christ Jesus. He will make us whole. He can satisfy our deepest needs. Will you invite Him into your life? Will you  allow God to direct your life, your finances, your will, wants and your plans that they will align with His?

While I am not attempting to take away your joy of shopping for your friends and loved ones, I just want to provide you with the opportunity to receive the greatest gift of all this year as we bring 2013 to a close. Health may have fallen, bills may be behind and loved ones may have turned their backs on you but know that there is a risen Savior who is waiting to receive you today.

I want to share with you a song I heard on the radio yesterday. I don’t drive much if I can help it but when I do, I tend to listen to uplifting music to carry me throughout my day. This song about had me in tears. No matter what we are going through, we must know that we cannot do anything in this life without the Lord no matter how hard we try. I know for myself that I cannot walk without Him holding my hand. This song has become one of my favorite and it lingers within me to the point of praise.

All we NEED for Christmas is Jesus Christ. If we trust God, He will provide all that we need and bless us with our wants. By His grace we have what we have. May we be thankful for the little and great. Be blessed one and all. You are loved, cherished and prayed for.

“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you  not of more value than they?” But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6: 26, 33 NKJV

To God be the glory now and forevermore,

Jesus, I’m Comin’ to You! (Down the beaten path)

Wow….

Where do I begin other than starting out with a shout of praise! Hallelujah, thank you Jesus!! Goosebumps cover me as I see myself and that of others going down the old beaten path of hardships and adversities we face knowing that there is a Savior who CAN heal us. If we can just touch the hem of His garment we know that we can be made whole.

When we face life problems we tend to keep going back and forth down the old beaten path rather than taking the path that leads to healing, deliverance and peace. Back and forth, we walk past one another with the same hurts, pain, afflictions, torments, anxieties and angers. We are lost, destitute and weary without Jesus. Without God’s guidance and being obedient to the word and instructions given to us that is edifying for our lives we walk aimlessly down a path not set for us.

Do we really want to turn over our pain to Jesus once and for all?

By faith we can be made whole. We must let go of control and allow Him to take hold. Those of us who have met Christ and know the power and abilities that He is capable of fulfilling in our lives can testify to it. Every now and then we get tripped up and question if He is able. Being in the flesh, we take our eyes off of Him and find ourselves back on the beaten path as if we never had knowledge that Christ is our Healer.

“If I can just touch the hem of His garment, I know that I can be made whole.”

Dear reader, I speak to the pit of despair, loneliness, depression, fear, lack of strength, discouragement and joy and I bind them up in the mighty name of Jesus. People, I speak to the lies that hover over you like a lion that has its jaws locked on its prey and I rebuke them. The gates of hell need to open back up and take back what is not meant for you. We don’t need anything in our lives to keep us broken and in despair. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.

Through the tears that flood your face, the sleepless nights, the constant pacing of the floors wondering how you will overcome I want you to believe that HEALING is available today.

“Oh Lord, I plead with you this day to come right now and meet us right where we are and bring us into the marvelous light. As we crawl, run and  limp towards You , please give us just enough strength by the power of Your might to touch the hem of your garment! We can be made over. We can be refreshed and revived! Hope and healing in is YOU!!!

Hallelujah, thank you Jesus!! I praise You in advance for what you are going to do and I thank you for what You have already done! Shine on us from above just one more time. Strengthen us, restore us that we can tell the world what has been done. Oh praises to Thee who reigns on high!”

However you get to Jesus, just get there. He’s waiting…….

Be encouraged my brother and my sister. I love you in Christ and I am praying for you. Don’t give up.

*If you do not know Jesus and are seeking help, He is all that you will ever need and provides the best resources to live a full and abundant life in Him. See the link above on the main page about receiving salvation. I look forward to hearing your testimony one day. Hugs to you.

Facetime with My Lord

Greetings dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus,

20131008-104133.jpg

I pray that you all are doing well in mind, body and spirit. God is truly good to us. (even in difficult times. ) Would you agree?

The last few weeks have been somewhat challenging in my spirit. Keeping things bottled up for the most part has not been a wise choice.

Rolling waves come crashing down on me. Again.

“Lord, I don’t know how I am going to get through this but I trust You with the outcome.” These words have been going through my mind over and over as the days pass.

My family lost a loved one last week. My uncle passed away but God bless His soul…. before he became ill and died from cancer on Monday he gave his life to the Lord! Hallelujah!!

Feeling overwhelmed doesn’t even seem like the right word to scratch the surface of how I have been coping with life. Why was I trying to keep it together and stay afloat the best I knew how without crying out in desperation is beyond me. I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve and yet I found myself closing up. Not one word to utter out loud to my Savior; the very One who sustains me. My heart cried out and soon I found myself needing face time with my Lord.

I needed to talk. I needed to pour out. I needed to be held and comforted unlike any other time.

Facetime. Something we all need with the Lord. Not only should we go to Him with our heavy hearts and burdens but also to lift Him up and glorify His name. He is to be exalted, praised and lifted up! Let us share the good news of Christ and all He’s done in us and through us. Amen?!!

As I found this time of retreat and solace beginning to take its place within me, I was still having unsettled peace reside.

I wasn’t giving up control.

My sister Patricia (link) contacted me as well as my other sister Dulcinea (link). They were not giving up on me at all! Each one came in at a time to give me a word of encouragement and shown me love when I wasn’t seeking it. Or so I thought. God’s arms stretch wide and His words of comfort come from afar. He knew just what I needed and though I had alone time with Him, He gave me more. He poured into me through others. All I can say is: timely. God shows up right on time. He’s not a minute too early or a second late. He comes right on time.

My God blessed me. He lifted me up from the hollow and dark place that I had been sitting in and fighting. I tell you and I encourage you all to not give up. I encourage you to rise up from the pit that tries to hold you captive. We are free in Jesus. The chains have been broken. We do not have to be enslaved to things that hurt us. I want to share a portion of a message Patricia sent me. I wish I could add the voicemail that Dulci (Sissy as I call her) sent me but I can’t. I love these women with all my heart. Thank you Jesus for them!! Here it goes:

“I know that it truly is a process at times, but be encouraged by the fact that God’s Word never changes and neither does his love for you. He understands every single bit of what you’re going through and every emotion that you  have, and he can dry every tear and hold you stronger and tighter than anybody can!”

Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. (Psalm 30: 5)

Faith Triumphs in Trouble
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Romans 5:1-5 NKJV)

Are you in need of FaceTime with the Lord today? Seek Him today while He may be found. Today is of the essence. Tomorrow may never come. Come one, come all and call upon the Name that’s above all names.

JESUS

Restore Me Dear Lord in Your Presence

20130917-073211.jpg

He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30 ESV)

In His presence is where I want to be. It’s where I need to be. I pray this for you as well dear brothers and sisters in Christ. I speak this word out to the nations. I speak this word out to those seeking truth and comfort for you will find it all in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.

“Heavenly Father let us come before you with an open heart and mind ready to receive all that You have for us. May we triumph any obstacles we face this day. Your Word is our anchor and foundation for life. Let us become still and quiet as we are before You. Strengthen us this new day. Guide our lips to speak edifying things for truly this is something this world needs. As Your humble vessels, may we DECREASE so that You may INCREASE in our lives. Renew, restore and revive us in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen”

I encourage you this day to spend some time with The Lord. You never know what He has to share with you. I may be life changing. Someone needs a word of encouragement, someone needs some wise counsel, there’s a broken heart, an angry soul ready to throw in the towel. But God has a word! He has a word that is meant to raise up and transform! Praise Him, Hallelujah!!

If its not for you, it’s meant to be shared with another! Let us not grow weary in well doing. Let us not just become comfortable in the blessings that the Father has given us. Let us look to the needs of others.

In His presence, we are gifted beyond measure. His words are priceless. Nothing can compare. How mighty is He! Sow the seeds that will reap bountifully in due time Allow The Gardener to water the soil and then wait for the harvest. Be blessed one and all!

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. (II Thessalonians 3:16 NKJV)

Lift Every Voice Giving Thanks Unto the Lord!

I was glad when they said unto me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.” (Psalms 122:1)

Joy unspeakable joy!!

sing-to-the-lord

You know, it does not take for Sunday to come around for us to praise God, to have a joy come over us as we are filled in abundance with the presence of the Lord. We can achieve that all week long when we go before His presence.

This is something I like to experience everyday as much as possible. You can too.

Moments upon standing back up on my feet after my morning prayers, a smile surfaced. My heart began to melt in the love of Christ. This longing to commune with Him started dancing inside of me. Wow. “It’s not even 6am yet and I want to sing and dance! Thank you Lord! Today is going to be awesome. Yessss!”

I encourage you today to allow the Lord to minister to your heart. If a scripture or song comes over you just let it pour out and saturate you. Don’t fight it. Sing a new song unto the Lord. Thank Him for this new day you have. Think about where He has brought you from, think about the things that could have stolen your life but God blocked it. Praise Christ in all things be it good or not so good. You are alive. You are here today for a reason. God has allowed His sun to shine down on you one more day. The Word tells us: Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” (Lamentations 3:22-24 NKJV)

Lift up your voice and give thanks to Jesus!

Below is a song that I would like to share with you all. It’s been around a long time and I still find myself getting goosebumps and teary-eyed as I lift up my hands and praise the Lord. He has been better to me than I have been to myself. He never turns His back on us when we choose to turn our back on Him. He is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. I am nothing without Him. I cannot take this journey in life by myself expecting to come out fine. Snares are waiting to trap us; waiting to keep us bound and hopeless. The enemy is a lie! Rebuke the lies of the adversary; the evil one and tell them to flee. Nothing is too powerful or strong that the Lord cannot set us free from. Claim freedom! Claim your liberty and sing! Tell the captives that you are free and it’s all because of Jesus!

Praise ye the Lord everyone! Praise Him for He is truly worthy of it all.

Scriptures of praise:

Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.(Psalm 98:1)

Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; (Psalms 96:1-4)

Sing to the Lord a new song, And His praise from the ends of the earth, You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, You coastlands and you inhabitants of them! (Isaiah 46:10)

Parched and Weary

“Heavenly Father, I thank you for waking me up with a sound mind thirsting to get my day started in You. Lord, I thank you for shaking my soul to cry out in prayer for the precious sheep that are dearly loved by Thee. Lives are living in despair, hopelessness, bondage and fear. This is not how You would have us to live. Day in and day out we can choose You! Day in and day out we can choose to have our thirst quenched from the pain and sorrow, the anger and frustration that we endure from this old world. Father, I don’t want to see your people give up. I do not want to see them live in mental torture. Our physical bodies shall perish one day but Lord our minds can be kept in You. I know this to be true. Hallelujah!! I am standing on faith that those who are parched and weary come to You. I pray that no matter what life brings that we can find the strength to crawl and receive rest, regain a new strength, a peace of mind just beyond the river. Jesus, Your precious Son, is waiting for us! This is our hope. He is our Hope. We will not be left nor forsaken. It is time to come. It is time to stop trying to do things on our own. We need you Lord. We need you right now. May the lame, the deaf, the leper, the sinner, the prisoner, the one fighting addiction, the one who is trapped in their mind come. Let all who are sick and in need of a Savior come. He’s waiting to take us in His arms to love on us and heal us. Just beyond the river we will find rest. Thank you Father God for waking me up and stirring my spirit to call on You. Not just for myself and my family within my walls but for all of Your children around the world who are crying out and are lost. Receive my prayers this day O Lord in the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.”

Jesus says: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV)

My fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord, I come lifting you up in prayer praying for your strength and steadfastness in the Lord to be a light in this world sharing the love of Jesus with many. Pray for the nations, pray for the hearts that have turned away from the Lord for whatever reason. Pray for yourselves that you would not lose hope on your own journey with Christ. Though we all grow a little weary and parched at times we know where to go. Jesus is our eternal rest and peace. He will quench our thirst when we are running low. This is a time of refreshing! Let us all follow through with the purpose that God gave each of us. Let us feed His sheep. This is His will. We would not be where we are today had it not been for someone sharing the Gospel with us however it came to us. He chose us so let us show our love and faithfulness back to Him out of obedience and draw men unto Him for salvation, peace and rest in Christ Jesus. Much love to you I send this day,

Terra

Solid Foundation: Who’s Building Your House?

20130506-095948.jpg

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (II Timothy 3:16, 17 NKJV)

No other ground I know to stand on that will not sink is Christ. He is the Solid Rock, the Cornerstone, the great Foundation that were are able to affix ourselves to without falling if we so choose. Choosing our own paths may provide a temporary fix but we will ultimately be back at square one. Choosing the wrong foundation will have us stressed out, angry, confused, bitter and perhaps even destructive towards ourselves and others.

There is no peace. No true peace and contentment when we are our own guide, builder and god. We cannot always blame others or Satan for things not working out.

Is it ever taken into account that things may be going wrong for a reason? Maybe God closed a door for your own good or it could even be that its just not the right time.

Questions.
Are we attempting to solve things in our own thinking? Are we speeding up the process because we cannot wait on God and His timing? Do we feel that God has not given us the answer(s) that we want?

Let’s pause and think about that shall we….

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” (Matthew 7:24-27 NKJV)

We should not continue to keep doing things in our own thinking and understanding when we do nothing but fail time and time again in the end. We cannot work in our own strength when we will eventually grow weary in doing so.

The Bible is our manual for life. It should not be pulled out and used like cake for special occasions catering to the quick fix “God I need You real quick, so can I get some help?” type of meal. God isn’t fast food.

Instead, it is our Daily Bread. Jesus is our daily bread. The Word will feed us, nourish us, provide peace, give us joy, hope, comfort, healing, understanding and correction along the way. To have righteous living and to be holy we need to align our ways with His. God is love. He is our eternal Word that sustains us through all circumstances.

Who is your Builder? Self or Christ?

Life will bring ups and downs. We cannot avoid them. What can take place is an unsurpassable peace residing within us that Christ himself provides. We will not become consumed with doubt and fear or filled with anxiety if we are standing on the Solid Foundation that keeps us from falling or sinking.

May we look to God at all times rather than when it accommodates us.

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. (Psalms 121:1-3 NKJV)

Our Lord will not fail us. He can not error. His building codes have been tested and founded to be true and stamped with approval.
