Construction Beneath the Soil

Keep the faith. Don’t look at your circumstances and the timing. God doesn’t work on our clock. When we take matters into our hands we can screw it up. If you believe the Lord for whatever you brought before Him, trust and believe that answers will come. Don’t dig up seeds of faith. Let them grow. You never know what’s going on underneath. God has plans far greater than you can imagine.

Stay encouraged dear hearts…. for the Lord is working out your growth in the very best way that will bring about a bloom in your life which will give Him the glory and you a steadfast spirit that will cultivate many times over for the future. Our testimony can arise from the darkness from which the seeds are under construction. Someone is needing to know how you overcame, how you stayed strengthened and encouraged when you wanted to give up. God is with you. Just wait on Him for the harvest is coming.

I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me; Because He  is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope. Psalm 16:7-9

Pathway to Purpose: Remember Lot’s Wife? If You Do, Don’t Look Back

In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. Remember Lot’s wife. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. (Luke 17:31-33 KJV)

Thinking back about Lot’s wife is kind of scary in a sense. What if God chose to show us He meant business if we seen someone turn into a pillar of salt right before our very own eyes? Would that get your attention?!!

If you have the time, please go back and read Genesis 19:1-26. This scripture talks about what lead up to Lot’s wife turning into a pillar of salt.

Following The Lord isn’t always easy. To give up and deny self, part ways with unequally yoked people, to live a life that’s holy and righteous and pleasing to our Creator can be hard at first as a new believer and even difficult as times as a “seasoned” Christian because we will be taken out and away from our comfort zone.

There is always a good reason for it when we choose the way of The Lord.

We are to walk in light. Not darkness. We are to turn away from our old sinful nature of thinking and living and clothe ourselves kingdom-minded in thought, word and deed.

When God shows mercy and gifts us with grace from situations that could harm us mentally and/or physically, why do we choose to look back?

What are we missing from the past?

It ought to be nothing simply because Father knows best. He knows the outcome of everything. I mean EVERYTHING.

There is a pathway that leads to life and one that leads to destruction. Life is in Christ, death is in the world. I choose the pathway of life. I pray you do as well.

Christ said : “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (Matthew 7:13, 14 NKJV)

There are many types of temptations to indulge in whether its mentally, verbally or physically. Perhaps all three. You will also be faced with difficulties when it comes to the heart. An example such as being left out/ being an outcast to your own family and friends who are not believers nor followers of our Lord and Savior is one of many.

You still love them and want to be in union but it does not mean that you do whatever is necessary to stay in the circle; the clique. This is not good and it is not right.

As followers of Christ Jesus we were made and set apart. We are not to conform to the ways of the world. We are to be holy because He is holy.

God has plans for you. Remember that. Recall what He said in the Book of Jeremiah……

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV) * this is one of my favorite scriptures I hold close to my heart.

Hold tight to this word of truth; this promise from God that He cannot go back on.

Just to share a bit of my own journey, there have been recent occasions when The Lord has asked me to do certain things and there have been times that He has told me what to do just as well. Have they been easy. Yes and no. Why? Because some things required me to step out of my comfort zone, some were tender spots because my heart was going to be affected and I knew it was not going to feel good at all. Did I follow through? Yes. ( well I slow poked a couple of times and took some detours but my way was revoked so I did it the right way! And if you are wondering if I am hardheaded the answer is Yes too. I’m not proud of it but I am learning to submit more and more to His will in uncomfortable territory.)

I wanted to do His will and I knew in part that my obedience would plant fruit bearing seeds BUT MY FLESH; my human side, did not want to feel the pain of feeling left out like an outcast, I did not want discord to strike me across the back like a whip simply because I chose Jesus. I CHOSE the better path.

Dear Reader, as I have shared my own experience in part with you I am encouraging you to still keep faith in The Lord and in the calling you have on your life. If you have yet to know what your calling is I encourage you to keep pressing on in your walk; your intimate and personal relationship walk with Christ.

Everyone will not understand and many will not want to accept it. But take heart because our God will bring people into your life who will understand and accept. He will provide. He will open doors and bless you beyond measure! Just wait and see!

Your act of obedience goes farther than what the human brain can conceive. We never know the ultimate purpose and plan behind God’s ways. We can only trust Him with the outcome whether we see it in this life or not.

The seeds we plant may be for someone’s own good. Salvation and freedom may be just around the corner for a lost soul. A desperate heart in need of a true Friend and Comforter will soon be found.

It’s not all about us…..

Pathway to Purpose. Do not look back. Your life and that of others could depend on it.

God bless you and keep you as you move forward on your journey until you reach your permanent destination called Heaven.

Home Sweet Home.

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Psalms 16:11 NKJV)

From Thy Lips…..

He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. (Proverbs 13:3 NKJV)

Words.

Words have the power to build up or tear down.

Words.

Words have the power to give hope, radiate light and to heal. They also have the power to hurt, breakdown, kill and destroy.

We as a people have a choice to plant seeds of life or death. This is a daily choice. There is no in between. Excuses of saying “Oh I was just kidding” or “You are just overly sensitive” doesn’t cut it.

Do not get me wrong because I am no one to point fingers. I am no saint. I have hurt people unintentionally along this life of mine. No one is perfect. It is our job to choose words carefully. This is done over time with consistency to try and speak in love even if it is in truth.

As parents, we are role models to our children. As adults we can be influential just as well towards one another.

Will it be for the good or for the bad?

Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. (Psalm 34:12, 13 NKJV)

Yesterday and today marked another day of life being taken away and another of being brought into the world. What type of impact have we contributed to society?

I went to bed last night mourning and woke up still mourning over a child I never met yet I stand in hope that peace and comfort will be found in the lives of those who loved the deceased.

My daughter who is 12 yrs old came home in tears yesterday to tell me that a classmate who was bullied committed suicide. He hung himself. It was by WORDS that smothered his heart and mind while trying to fight a battle of evil that he succumbed to death. He could not overcome the pain anymore. Assumptions that he was gay went around in talk when he was not what others claimed him to be.

Gossip leads to destruction if it is not stopped.

Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you. (Luke 6:37, 38 NKJV)

This young man would have turned 13 yrs old next week, his birth mother was coming back into his life and he was trying to learn more about the Lord from what I was told. Life has stopped in his mortal body. The Bible he carried and read in his backpack will not be used any longer. By him that is. I pray that someone else will take the Holy Word and put it to use. It is our manual for holy living. It is our comfort and daily help, it is our guide and armor to use against evil and the dark principalities of this world.

Help.

When will we begin to take life more seriously? When will we start becoming more selfless than selfish? When will we begin to live more like Christ being the hands, feet and mouthpieces?

When will we take a stand for what’s right? When will we take our backs off the wall and stop being cowards? If we love people and seek righteousness then it is time to live it out even if it means losing people in our lives who do not agree with what the Bible teaches us.

Lets not wait until a situation hits close to home before we move or speak out. Tomorrow isn’t promised to you or to myself. In all things said and done, may it be centered around The Lord and prayed about. We have been given common sense as well so we ought to use it.

We will be held accountable on judgement day. How will we answer?

May our words be for edifying rather than tearing down. There is enough cruelty in the world, enough history to reflect upon to hopefully want to make a change. Satan can care less about any of us. He’s about stealing, killing and destroying and will use anything or anyone to accomplish his plans.

God bless those all around the world suffering. Whether its in body or in mind, I pray that we as His children will become more proactive in lip service. Someone’s life can be changed for the better.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14 KJV)

If You Love Me You’d Tell Me the Truth

20120810-082654.jpg
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. (Proverbs 27:17 KJV)

This scripture could not be more poignant.

Amazingly, the Lord’s hand has still been upon me even when I have become frustrated, even when I have shed tears out of compassion and a lack of understanding with the questions of Why, What and How juggling around in my brain. I know I’ve said “amazingly” but in all knowing, it has been His mercy and grace that has kept me. It has been His compassion and patience to show me the very things I needed to hear and see through His eyes and understanding.

Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22 NKJV)

If we love someone, we will not give up on them. If we love them, we will do what’s right for the sake of righteousness.

May we be merciful upon those who bring strife, upon those that seemingly make something out of nothing, upon those who fall away from what’s right to start walking, talking and acting as if they never knew God’s truths. If they are not a believer and follower of Christ, the fruit we show bears witness to Whom we belong to and how we live out life as an example.

We all hurt and express our pain and emotions in many ways. Through our longsuffering, love and patience with others, a heap of coals could be removed from their heads if we treat them in a Christ-like manner.

No one is perfect.

Jesus met us right where we were in all of our mess waiting to clean us up, love on us, be our Friend who would never lie to us just to make us feel better. He sharpens us more than any other friend we could ever have in our lives just to give us a life that would be easier to bear spiritually by living right and doing so accordingly.

Love Above All Else

He Who Has An Ear, Let Him Hear

HE WHO HAS AN EAR LET HIM HEAR

Nothing new being done under the sun is new to God. There’s no new sin that has not already been committed.

The Bible speaks of events to come. It also has given us stories of events that have taken place so long ago. Same things are still being done. It’s just with new faces and updated techniques and tricks in this century and those of the past and future.

Like I tell my kids “Don’t ever think you can get away with anything. I’ve been there, done that or know someone who has. And if it passes by me or your Daddy for just a while, it will catch up with you sooner or later. The game doesn’t change. It’s just a new set of faces. Most importantly, you cannot hide what you’ve said or done from God. Remember that. He sees IT ALL.”

For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear. (Mark 4:22, 23 NKJV)

Could this be you? This has been many of us at times whether you are a born- again Christian or not. We all fall short of grace and have sinned like its nobody’s business. Temptation will find you. This world is full of desires that are pleasing to the eye. Yet ask yourself if they are worth partaking in.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:2 KJV)

Could this be you right now? (picture below)

Are you installing soundproof installation to the Truth? I’m talking about God’s word. This Truth is the very thing we need in our lives to keep us, sustain us, encourage and protect us from the evil that always creeps around luring us in. This Truth is our guide, our manual, our path that leads to a narrow yet righteous way of living through Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

This is dangerous. Just like a house built on sinking sand, just like a house built with the most expensive type of installation to protect your home from heat and cold, it ALL can still crumble. It will sink, it will catch fire and burn down.

20120701-100437.jpg

Through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established; By knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches. A wise man is strong, Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength; For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, And in a multitude of counselors there is safety. (Proverbs 24:3-6 NKJV)

Time is drawing near. We don’t know the day or hour that Christ will come back. Will you be ready?

Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. (Luke 12:40 NKJV)

The Parable of the Wheat and Tare
Another parable He put forth to them, saying: The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. (Matthew 13:24, 25 NKJV)

I’ve only given you a small scripture about the wheat and tare. I encourage you to read Matthew chapter 13 in its entirety. The parable of sowing seeds is beneficial. The ground on which it’s sown yields an abundance of fruit if planted on good soil. Any other ground is temporary and detrimental if the ground is not cultivated and not taken care of.

But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. (Matthew 13:23 NKJV)

He WHO HAS AN EAR LET HIM HEAR.

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God. (Revelation 2:7 NKJV)

* red denotes words spoken by Christ

May all that you from this point be edifying to the Lord. It’s not an easy task to follow but is worth the cost of following. Our Savior is the way.

Will you allow Him to lead you into a life everlasting?

God bless,

Terra

Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (Matthew 7:13, 14 NKJV)

What’s That In Your Mouth?!!

20120319-083435.jpg
Your words were found, and I ate them; and Your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart, for I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts. (Jeremiah 15:16 AMP)

Chewing and Digesting

Through my own experiences, though in general, the Word does feed my spirit. Chewing and digesting it ( scripture ) soaks into the innermost being of my spirit. Its not about the quantity of what I read, but the quality; what I am taking from it. There are days when I pray asking God to give me a word for a particular moment that I’m going through or something that’s on my mind as well as just wanting to seek His heart and finding out what it is that he wants to talk to me about.

20120319-084014.jpg

This is vital to my daily living just as keeping healthy and taking my vitamins. God is my spiritual dose of nourishment. His Living Word is what keeps me going. All the strength I work in that’s righteous comes from he and he alone. Seeking Him and his presence means everything in what I say and do. I want to be about my Father’s will. His plans are greater than mine and yours. With this said, I am praying that you too take careful consideration as to the things you consume mentally, physically and spiritually.

Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. (James 1:21-25 NKJV)

“Father God, it is your heart that I seek after daily. I need you desperately. Without you I can do nothing. Teach me your ways that I may live accordingly. I pray for my friends and family far and near that they too will seek after you coming thirsty and hungry. Your Son paid it all on the cross. He blood was not shed in vain. Help me to take up my cross daily and to deny the flesh that has no means to edify my growth in you. I continually ask for your mercy and grace. Your infinite wisdom is greater than anyone’s. I’ve asked you for wisdom and you have granted it to me. May I be wise and not foolish in my own thinking; boasting of things I know not is meaningless. Everything meaningful and righteous that proceeds out of my mouth I credit to you. Praises forever will be in my mouth for you alone are worthy of them. Glory hallelujah!!
In Jesus name… Amen”

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. (James 1:5, 6 NKJV)

My Eyes Look Up to Thee……

20120301-081626.jpg
Psalm 121 A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help?

God the Help of Those Who Seek Him

My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore. (Psalm 121:1-8 NKJV)

Trust in the Lord dear brethren for our God is not dead. He’s surely alive living inside of you even if you feel and think as if he is not near. He is! Emotions will get the best of us. Stand on the Word and don’t behave as if you don’t know how powerful and majestic the Great I AM is.

Do not put trust in your emotions. They come and go as the waves in the ocean; up and down. The Bible tells us:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; (Proverbs 3:5 NKJV)

Call on Him. Blow your trumpet and let your aid be made known! You need him more than anyone. Some days may grow long and weary and seem as if the light at the end of the tunnel may never shine, but I’m here to tell you that HELP is on the way. Be patient and wait on the Lord. His timing is never too early or too late. He comes right on time! TRUST and BELIEVE that you will be rescued.

Psalm 121 has personally been one of my favorite scriptures that I have embedded in my heart and trusted in since I gave my life to Christ years ago. He IS my help in times of trouble. I look UP and CALL on him because I KNOW HE is able to come through for me when I let my basket of cares be made known.

Friends, whatever it is that you are in need of, it would behoove you to let it go and give it to God. Trust that his hand is already at work. Plead your case and leave it at the alter. Amidst waiting for your rescue, count it joy as your wait with patience. The Lord is doing a great thing on the inside of you.

GOD IS ABLE TO DO ALL THINGS BUT FAIL.
