Neighborhood Watch

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. (1 Peter 5:8, 9 ESV)

Dear brothers and sisters in the Lord,

My prayer for you today is to be alert, waking up each day you are given with a mindset that evil is always lurking; always searching for a crack to seep into to mess up your day. It all starts with a thought. Thoughts then turn to actions if we allow them to.

Did you wake up this morning with a good or bad attitude? What type of fruit has it produced thus far?

The Lord did not awaken us to start off with negative thinking. Yesterday may have not been a good one but leave yesterday where it belongs. TODAY is a brand new day. It’s never too late to redirect your thoughts, to turn them around and make the best of what you’ve been given. Life itself is a blessing. Someone did not make it through the night. Someone took their last breath a second ago.

We are called to make a difference.

Today is not ALL ABOUT YOU day. Think of others and the sufferings and battles they are facing. If they do not know Christ and haven’t started to develop a relationship with Him, then they definitely are prey waiting to be devoured. We can be too if we grow weary, give up and give in.

Thee ole snowball effect will either spring for life or death. Those around you will will either benefit or take a loss based off of how you react. Our family, friends, neighbors and strangers need to reap God’s blessings. Enough damage is done by the adversary by himself.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; (2 Corinthians 10:3-5 KJV)

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12 KJV)

It’s time to put on your spiritual clothing ( Armor of God Ephesians 6:11-17) and take your post. Use spiritual discernment when you are on watch. God oversees everything. Nothing goes unnoticed 24/7 by him.

Stay prayed up and be vigilant. Be strengthened in the Lord. Fear not what Satan can do to you. God has you covered on all sides. You have the power and authority in Christ Jesus to cast down those things that are not pure.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7 KJV)

  4. Whooooo! Powerful reminder sis!!! We can never let our guard down, and no that doesn’t mean we should walk around constantly looking over our shoulders. We simply (I know we can sometimes over-coomplicate things) need to be prayed up at all times and ready to recognize the Enemy’s slimy ways! Our spiritual eyes must be open! How can we be ready for battle if we can’t see the attack?! Great post!!

    Bless you my dear!!

    Patricia
