Are You Living Each Day As If It’s Your Last?

“Good morning, and in case I don’t see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!”– quote from The Truman Show

Now if you haven’t seen this movie before, it’s pretty much about a guy who’s life that has been under the microscope since he was born. He does not know of it until certain things start to happen in his adulthood. Unlike this movie, there are no actors and actresses pretending to be someone they are not in your life. I’m really trying not to give too much away (about this movie) but I want you to think about YOUR life….. knowing that you’ve been under God’s careful watch even before conception.

For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mothers womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You. (Psalm 139:13-18 NKJV)

It’s quite amazing how the Holy Spirit gives me inspiration when I wake up. Some of it seems odd to me at times but there is always a greater purpose than my understanding. Someone needs to hear this. No words I write, no prayers I speak or utter are of myself but of wisdom, inspiration and guidance of He Who leads me. I am just a humble vessel wanting to obey that his mighty words and works may be known to those who need them.

Thinking about the number of years you have been blessed to see another day does not mean that you should dwell on the bad ones. I’m sure that the good outweighs the bad. Remember that our Father’s scale beats ours hands down. God has shown his love in various ways all throughout your life. His mercy and grace is something to think on. Ponder for a moment:

Sin upon sin, daily mercies, unmerited favor we do not deserve, Christ dying for us, being cleansed and washed white as snow, unconditional and unselfish love for a Father (our heavenly Father) to send his only Son down to earth to save us from ourselves, the choice of eternal salvation over damnation, a roof over our head, clothing, shelter, a right mind, health, a job, food and family whether blood related or not as well as people who encompass us every day. The list goes on and on.

Does any of this ring a bell yet?

He (the Lord) did not promise that you would not experience hurt and pain but he did promise to be with you. You may think that life has dealt you a bad hand and you just cannot seem to rise above; to get ahead. You’ve grown tired, frustrated, disappointed, and perhaps just plain angry with a nasty aftertaste in your mouth.

God knew your life well in advance. It’s not to say that things cannot change, but how you/we respond to it makes a world of a difference. Have you pushed away people he has sent your way? Have you ignored the blessings that did not come in the form you expected? Have you just given up, given in and called it quits?

Reach out for the hand of the Lord and ask for help, ask for a better mind frame to deal with life’s curve balls, to simply take your current life situations and deal with them the best you can with hope and faith that He will see you through.

ARE YOU LIVING EACH DAY AS IF IT IS YOUR LAST?

Tomorrow or the next breath isn’t promised to no one. Don’t put off the very things today that can be done and enjoyed, sowed and reaped with a perspective that Someone Who’s thoughts and understanding are higher than yours and knows exactly what you need to make this life’s journey. You may not ever understand why you are going though hard times at the moment, but God does. Even if you do not like anything about today and you know that your heartstrings are being tugged on to do something for someone else in the name of the Lord… just do it. It may not always be about the act of service and kindness toward others, but about the act of OBEDIENCE.

Is this you burying your head in the ground not trying to hear anything being said because it does align with what makes you happy?

If you have God, you have everything that you could ever need. Any thing else is just added blessings to your life. He should make you happy, he should make you feel content. Not people or material things.

Could this be you saying: “La la la la laaaaa, I can’t hear you!!!”

Now it’s time to put on our big girl and big boy undies and face the day in the power and might of the Lord’s strength. May we think before we speak or act out of foolishness, disregard, selfishness, pity or spite before someone gets their hand bit off all because we did not take the time to reflect on the goodness that the Lord has already given. Today has been granted with a purpose.

Saying all of this is out of love. It’s not to hurt or harm you, but to speak truth that it may be edifying if you receive it.

How much better it is to get skillful and godly Wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen
rather than silver. The highway of the upright turns aside from evil; he who
guards his way preserves his life. Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a
fall. Better it is to be of a humble spirit with the meek and poor than to divide the spoil with the proud. He who deals wisely and heeds [God’s]
word and counsel shall find good, and whoever leans on,
trusts in, and is confident in the Lord–happy, blessed, and fortunate is he. The wise in heart are called prudent, understanding, and knowing, and winsome speech increases learning [in both
speaker and listener]. Understanding is a wellspring of life to those who have it,
but to give instruction to fools is folly. The mind of the wise instructs his mouth, and adds learning
and persuasiveness to his lips. Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the mind and
healing to the body. There is a way that seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is the way of
death. (Proverbs 16:16-25 AMP)

God loves you and so do I. May his abounding love cover you and keep you, may his angels provide protection all your days, may his peace triumph over chaos and evil. Be still and know that he is God.

Message of Christ

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27 NKJV)

  3. Good message, Terra. It’s never pleasant when we are “going through,” but there is great purpose in who we are when we come out the other side.
