Double Rainbow: God never ceases to amaze me!!!

ALL I CAN SAY IS : WOOOOWWWWWWWW!!!!

Well I am sure I have a bit more to say but I am overjoyed, smiling and full of happiness right about now. We had another storm come through this evening. I had taken a shower and went downstairs to the kitchen when my kids said that the sky looked yellow from the front and back door. Of course I am usually ready to snap any interesting pictures so I stepped outside and BAM……..a BEAUTIFUL DOUBLE RAINBOW stretched across the sky! I caught it initially from my backyard and then I headed to the front. It’s getting dark and I surely couldn’t care less who seen me in my black/white/teal animal print pj’s! Hey it looked like I was wearing a tank top and capris so who cares! I seen one of the greatest wonders God ever created! The Bible itself mentions such wonders.

“And God said: This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth. And God said to Noah, This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all the flesh that is on the earth.” (Genesis 9:12-17 NKJV)

My daughter Faith was capturing a picture on the iPhone as I was capturing it with my camera! An amazing moment God blessed us all with! His love is everlasting!!

The quality of the pictures and proper settings on the camera were not always correct but I didn’t care……… it was a memory maker for me. The rain was beginning to sprinkle again and I had to wipe my lens off at times. I am still fairly new to doing photography at it’s best but it I can say that there was a greater and deeper meaning for me in this moment of seeing the storm, adoring the beautiful rainbow all the way to seeing the sun set. It is something that the Lord knew that I needed. Every good and perfect blessing comes from heaven. He blessed me once again. My heart leaps, dances and rejoices in His goodness. Faithful is He from the beginning to the end. Praises be unto He Who not only resides in heaven but in my heart.

  1. I love sharing in your excitement at God’s promise signified by the rainbow. It’s wondrous how something so seemingly simple strikes adoration in our hearts for Him. We come “as a child.” Thanks for sharing the joy!

    • Thank you Patti for sharing in my excitement! You are so right about how we come to Him like a child. May we be excited or the simple things. I can’t begin to imagine all the beauty I would miss out on if I did not have eyesight. I thank the Lord for vision.

You know what..the blind see the Lord’s glory in their own way. Those of us with actual sight can be blind to the senses and blessings we take for granted on a daily basis. I pray that we start to come to Him like a child and be thankful for even the smallest and simple things in life.

      It’s something to think about……

I take joy over the smallest things and I love it! 🙂

  2. Terra thank you so much for this wonderful post! Just last week I was driving hope from the grocery store and experienced the same exact thing. I live in Florida and we’re in our rainy season now. Lately we’ve experienced alot of thunderstorms and that’s what happened the day I saw the double rainbows. I had never seen this before!!! It was absolutely beautiful….Thank you so much for your post and reminding “me” of my experience….Many, many blessings to you….Robin

    • You are so welcome Robin! Seeing a double rainbow yesterday was a first! Just jaw dropping! Glad you have seen one too. Thank you for the blessings dear sister! I send many back to you!!

  3. Hi Terra, thank you for sharing your photos, Rainbows also have a lot of meaning for me, I just posted a poem about them, but the awesome reality is that they are in Heaven too…

Revelation 4: 2 -3 And immediately I was in the Spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in Heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a Rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

Ezekiel 1: 28 As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.

I thank you for sharing your thoughts about what the rainbows mean in your life. Blessed to hear how others see and experience the Lord’s promises and blessings.

Much love to you and Ron always,

      Terra
