Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. (Proverbs 27:17 KJV)
This scripture could not be more poignant.
Amazingly, the Lord’s hand has still been upon me even when I have become frustrated, even when I have shed tears out of compassion and a lack of understanding with the questions of Why, What and How juggling around in my brain. I know I’ve said “amazingly” but in all knowing, it has been His mercy and grace that has kept me. It has been His compassion and patience to show me the very things I needed to hear and see through His eyes and understanding.
Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22 NKJV)
If we love someone, we will not give up on them. If we love them, we will do what’s right for the sake of righteousness.
May we be merciful upon those who bring strife, upon those that seemingly make something out of nothing, upon those who fall away from what’s right to start walking, talking and acting as if they never knew God’s truths. If they are not a believer and follower of Christ, the fruit we show bears witness to Whom we belong to and how we live out life as an example.
We all hurt and express our pain and emotions in many ways. Through our longsuffering, love and patience with others, a heap of coals could be removed from their heads if we treat them in a Christ-like manner.
No one is perfect.
Jesus met us right where we were in all of our mess waiting to clean us up, love on us, be our Friend who would never lie to us just to make us feel better. He sharpens us more than any other friend we could ever have in our lives just to give us a life that would be easier to bear spiritually by living right and doing so accordingly.
Love Above All Else ❤

So true.
Hi Terra, I recently shared on this Topic, it seems to be in focus, thank you for your message and it is very True as you shared, only God knows our Eternal Destiny, we are not to judge others for this or we are showing contempt for God’s Sacrificial Mercy and Grace, He knows a persons heart. The Scriptures tell us many times, Love is not just a word it is an action, it is easy to say I Love you, so many do but there is no real commitment or sacrificial Love.
Jesus rebuked harshly the Pharisees and He also got the whip out and yet He still said Father forgive them, sadly many ignored His Love and still do today even some in the Church and yes Jesus will send them away, He knows the wolves and game players, even if for a time we are deceived, this is why we must test their spirit regardless of their degrees or how popular they are, in Truth we should be more carful if they are widely accepted by all beliefs.
Paul rebuked firmly the childish Christians and others but he did so because he Loved them in the Lord, yes it easier but it is not Love to look away from those who disobey or to allow people to continue to be deceived or to sin without correcting them and rebuking them, as God asks us to do and it is not Love to ignore our Brothers and Sisters in the Lord in their time of trouble or in their poverty, or to claim one thing but show by our actions we believe another.
Jesus tells us we will be hated and rejected when we share His Truth by those with itching ears only wanting to hear what agrees with their fleshy agenda and worldly understanding.
Yes we will be hurt and Jesus Christ was hurt too, He was known as a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, He was not Happy Clappy or did He pretend to be.
Christian Love from us both – Anne
You are so right Anne. Thank you for sharing that Love is an ACTION word. Amen to that!
I agree!
Amen!
Wonderful lesson, Terra! God bless you!
Paulette
Thank you Paulette! God gives us instructions. May we take heed and learn along the way. His love is astounding. Bless you sis!
Terra
Amen. Yes, if we love someone we will not give up. Most times when one does not truly love they don’t believe they have given up because they never truly loved. But God is love no matter what. Our perfection is in Him. So I agree, if you love someone you would tell them the truth, but most of the time one already knows the truth. I now propose can one handle the truth?
So yes, you stated God will meet us in all our mess. Yet many don’t have the time to meet others where they are…This is not showing love. Luke 6:33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
Blessings to you ♥
A Woman After God’s Own Heart ♥
I agree…. God is love. He is the Perfector or our faith. I can only hope and pray that as our days accumulate, we will take valuable lessons of love from Christ. It’s a daily process to strive in. It can get messy and it won’t always be right but in it all may we look at ourselves and ask the Lord to show us where we error so that we can live and talk on the very things we say we stand for.
God loves unconditionally unlike human beings. It is hard to sometimes face the truth in ourselves when and if we recognize it, but that is when pride needs to be set aside so that love, compassion, unity and meekness will cover a multitude. Mercy and grace has been bestowed upon us all. This in return is what we should give to others without measure no matter what. Our Lord will bless us for blessing others.
We are all a work in progress. To God be the glory…..
Blessings to you Sis ❤
This is awesome and AMEN to that Terra!
