The Lord’s Provision

20130408-060834.jpg
Good day to you one and all in the name of Christ Jesus our risen Lord and Savior! I come to you dear brethren to remind you to stand firm and unshakable for our very lives have been accounted for. Each day His provision has been made before you awake every morning.

Delight yourself in the company of the One who sustains you through every storm. Do not fear todays journey. He has gone before you to prepare the way. All you have to do is walk in it.

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? (Psalms 118:6 NKJV)

Let no worry or fear beset you. Scripture tells us: What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31 ESV).

It does not matter who tries to come against you. Remember that God has your back. It does not matter what evil plot or snare that the enemy attempts to succeed at, remember also that God has your back.

KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND WHO YOU BELONG TO!!!

Psalms 121(ESV)

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

Arise With A New Mind And Don’t Complain

Every day is a new day. It may not be what you want or how you make like it but it is here among the living. When I began to think on the goodness of the Lord when I arise in the mornings, I have to humble myself and praise Him who is my Everlasting Hope and Treasure.

Eyes to see, ears to hear and a body that is able can overcome any obstacles in Christ Jesus for He is our hope. Our strength for today lies within Him. He is our Refuge, our Shelter in storms and our Foundation to keep a steady mind and foot during adversities. My heart has been prayerful for you dear reader. Know that God is present and sees all things. My words seem as if they are few to me in my own mind and sight because I can pour our much more but my heart is full with eagerness, faith, hope and prayer that you will have a good report amongst yourselves as you think about just how good the Lord has been to you.

Just like the above picture I took, I see each day and moment as a bud awaiting to bloom next to the flowers that have already came forth. What I am trying to say is that reflection should take place upon the many blessings God has already given you. Life itself is one of them so that is a daily blessing. All of your good days should outweigh your bad days as the song belong states. Do not forget and become unthankful for what you already have. Difficulties will come and storms will arise but trust in the One who has already delivered you. His mercy and grace has covered a multitude and for that we ought to just say Thank You Lord for there are many souls lost and walking in darkness who have yet to realize that He is able to sustain those who call upon Him.

May your thoughts today and everyday begin to align with the God’s Word and promises. The Bible tells us: Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6 NKJV)

Lyrics to I Won’t Complain :

[Verse1:]
I’ve had some good days
I’ve had some hills to climb
I’ve had some weary days
And some sleepless nights
But when I look around
And I think things over
All of my good days
Out-weigh my bad days
I won’t complain

[Verse2:]
Sometimes the clouds are low
I can hardly see the road
I ask a question, Lord
Lord, why so much pain?
But he knows what’s best for me
Although my weary eyes
They can’t see
So I’ll just say thank you Lord
I won’t complain

[Chorus:]
The Lord Has been so good to me
He’s been good to me
More than this old world or you could ever be
He’s been so good, To me
He dried all of my tears away
Turned my midnights into day
So I’ll just say thank you Lord

[Adlib:]
I’ve been lied on
But thank you Lord
I’ve been talked about
But thank you Lord
I’ve been misunderstood
But thank you Lord
You might be sick
Body reeking with pain
But thank you Lord
The bills are due
Don’t know where the money coming from
But thank you Lord
Thank you Lord
Thank you Lord

[Chorus:]
I want to thank God
Has been so good to me
He’s been good to me
More than this old world or you could ever be
He’s been so good
He’s been so good
He’s been so good
So good
So good
So good
So good
To me
He dried all of my tears away
Turned my midnight into day

[Ending:]
So I’ll just say thank you Lord,
I won’t complain

Weeping & Rejoicing

20130316-160425.jpg
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. (Romans 12:15 NKJV)

As I sit outdoors listening to the windchime clank back and forth melodically in tune with the warm winds, I find my thoughts passing through the skies with some somber feelings and those of rejoicing.

My sister in The Lord lost her mother recently. I cried and my heart still mourns yet I find comfort and rejoice with her because her mother has gone home to be with our Lord.

Thinking back over the last few weeks as well as the months, she and I have had conversations of laughter and those deep in prayer over various matters.

She is my sister. In Christ we share His blood.

One of the most profound conversations we have had is that of having a kindred spirit. Through one of my dark times I told her that she was like a sister (blood related, earthly type DNA kind of stuff) to me and that I truly appreciated her. You know what she told me?!! She said “Terra, I AM your sister!” While it may not seem like it grabs and clenches the heart to you, it spoke volumes to me and it still does!

Though we have never met in person (yet) we have built this relationship that seems as if it was meant to be and we carry on like we’ve known each other for years! As much as I talk about her to my kids and my husband I think they pretty much know everything I know about her.

My other brothers and sisters in The Lord that I have grown close to have impacted my life as well as I of theirs. My heart is blessed when I am thought of and their lives are shared with me. The in and out, the good and bad are taken up and treasured for in these times, prayers are lifted up over many things that we each face. We weep together and we rejoice together. I find comfort in this.

Kindred spirits…. kindred bloodline. These are the treasures I have through Christ in the multitude of brothers and sisters I have become close to over passing time. I look forward to joining together with many I have yet to meet and bond with.

Who would ever think that such treasure could be found in the “blogdom”. Surely not I a few years ago. I am a believer who’s “cup has runneth over”.

The Blood of Christ Jesus surpasses any earthly blood ties and connections that a DNA test could ever compile. With that said, I am completely satisfied.

Though this life is temporary and shall pass away, I trust and believe that Father God will provide for the motherless, fatherless, those without siblings and those simply in need of love and fellowship with those that they can connect with.

Miles away, distant lands and even language barriers may separate us but it is the bloodline of Christ that unites us forever.

Whether you are weeping or rejoicing I am with you doing the same. I am thankful for the overflow of love that’s been poured out and for that which is received.

If we never meet face to face in this life, I look forward to seeing you in glory!

Be Still: In the Light of His Presence

“Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” (Romans 8:27 NKJV)

God is wonderful and amazing don’t you think? Actually don’t you KNOW?!! The sun goes up and goes down every day. The Creator of the heavens and earth gifts us not only with Life (Christ Jesus) but also with the wonderful things upon this earth that He spoke to be.

I took this raw and unedited picture above a little while ago today as I listened to the weather change course. It’s a rain and ice mixture falling down and it sounds like sand. It started to remind me of the countless granular of sand that our Almighty God placed on the earth. Only He knows exactly how many they are just like He knows the very hairs on our heads and every working cell inside our body. Again….. isn’t that amazing.

On a regular basis, we should ask the Lord to search our hearts. May He open us up and allow light to shine into the innermost parts of our being; of our spirit. We may not want the dark areas of our life to be seen but He sees them for they cannot be hidden. There are also lit areas that benefit our growth as well. Both can be used to lift and encourage another through our sufferings and through our joy.

To sit still and invite the presence of the Lord is a welcomed invitation to Him. There is nothing wrong with having some alone time with God even if it’s in the busyness of your day. Setting aside a more intimate time to dwell in His presence is even greater.

Scripture tells us in James 4:8Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

I find this to be true because I have done so many of times.

Through some of the most simplistic ways God will meet you right where you are. Just quiet your spirit and listen.

Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. (Romans 8:27-30 NKJV)

Be still and KNOW that HE is GOD. (Psalm 46:10)

I hope that you enjoy the song just as much as I have. This is one my favorite songs. It really takes me to a place where it’s just me and God. Nothing around me can disturb me. As I lift up my heart, my hands and my voice, I surrender because without Him I am nothing. All that I am and all that I long for is in Christ. Nothing can be better than that.

Love and Blessings,

Terra

Sing Unto the Lord! Rejoice!!!

Good day all! It is good to be alive this morning. Praises to our God for breathing life once again into our very bodies. I want to share a song with you that has me about out of my skin when I hear it. You Reign by Christian band MercyMe was one of the favorite songs I heard them sing some years ago when I went to my very first concert. Yep. I have never been to a concert in my life until a few years ago. It was a Christian concert matter of fact with musical artist singing some of my all time favorite songs that I had been listening to on the radio prior to finding out that a concert was coming to town. (MercyMe, Toby Mac, Barlow Girl, NewSong, Skillet just to name a few.) The awesome thing on top of that was God ministering to my soul. I’ll never forget Winter Jam 2008. It was a night to remember. My friend Heather and I had an amazing time worshipping the Lord with a packed coliseum full of people. Many brought friends along who gave their life to Christ by the end of the show. I can only imagine how the heavens were rejoicing!

I want to encourage you all today to be blessed in the Lord. Remember that He loves you. Nothing will ever change that. Live for today. Get a notepad and jot down or just think on things throughout your day as to how favor has been a part of your life. You are alive and breathing, you have a roof over your head, a working brain, food to eat, praying people around the world interceding on your behalf who don’t even know you, etc. Most of all, you have a Savior who already cleansed you of your sins and welcomes you to a life in Him. Salvation is yours if you have not already received it. What an abundance of blessings you have. They are countless.Take a look around you and reflect. Life may not be looking the way you want it to but you are still here. God is on His throne. He is in control of the heavens and the earth. Surrender your thoughts and smile. God has everything under control.

Glory in the Highest!

“Father, I thank you for being the head of my life, I thank you for a sound mind and a peace that surpasses all understanding. I thank you for the desire to wake up delighted to be before You, to partake in sharing a word of encouragement with all who will receive it, to want to stand in Your rooted Word that will not go out void. I am before You with a sensitive spirit wanting to do all that is asked of me. I ask that You show Yourself to those who are lost, lonely, afraid, depressed, fearful, mourning and stressed out. Meet them right where there are. It’s not by this blog post that my prayers are heard. Someone needs You right now. May your angels provide a hedge of protection around them this very moment. May Your children be selfless and comfort a broken heart, be a shoulder to cry on, a mouthpiece of prayer standing in the gap for a dying soul. Let our voices echo in the heavens and on the earth that You reign forevermore! There is power in numbers as we unite for the sake of the kingdom. Let the demons tremble at the sound of your glory, flee when the name of JESUS is spoken and called upon. Today is ground breaking. Let the earth proclaim Your sovereignty and bow down in honor and reverence. Hallelujah! Praise Your name on High. Let us sing and worship like never before. You are our refuge, our strength, our courage and anchor and we bless You today. In Jesus I pray. Amen.”

Are You Smarter, Wiser or Perhaps More Creative Than God? NAWWW…. Who are we kidding?!!

Let’s face it. If a tv show ever existed we would lose hands down, way way down. I mean wayyyy down. We are not smarter than God. We surely cannot outwit Him even if we tried. (remember that it was He and He ALONE who created every thing seen and unseen.)
He is The Man with the Master Plan.
Last night was not unlike any other in my home but it was a great time to experience as my husband, a couple of the kids and myself were watching Animal Planet and the show basically was about life in the ocean. All sorts of living organisms and creatures were shown and talked about. I seemingly cannot find a picture of this fish that I thought was ummm….. ummm not cute. So I’ll opt for this one below. It looks interesting still.

Anyway, as the show carried on my mind started thinking about just how smart, wonderful, majestic, and powerful our God is. Who can compare? There is none like Him. Just as we human beings were made with great craftsmanship from the inside out, characteristics and all, the same has been done for life in the ocean as well as the skies. All of the universe for that matter.
I was smiling and thinking to myself “Wow!! God made a diverse amount of sea life that I have yet to see and learn about. He created everything in a matter of days. No one else could ever do that! Ever. My Lord, I just want to give You props. I can’t wait to see You one day. How on earth do I still try to complete tasks or think things through on my own when YOU have all of the answers.
We need praise the Lord just for being Who He says He is. He made us all and we simply cannot live this life without Him. He holds the keys to the world. All these earthly treasures are great to look at, touch and enjoy but nothing stands in comparison to the treasures in heaven. While I look forward to the treasures in heaven, I look most forward to meeting Him. O’ what a day that will be!
I get excited when I have these little moments with the Lord as He shows me pieces of Himself. Living Simply in Abundance fills my soul, fills my heart and mouth with delight to worship, praise and give thanks for all that has been done for me and you.
Let’s take delight in the Lord always. There should never be a dry season or day to not exalt His lordship, love and faithfulness. The water, stars and winds praise Him. We should do it too. He rules. He reigns. He lives forevermore.
Our God is great. Better yet, He’s grand and I am so glad that I have the opportunity each and every day to draw closer to Him to develop a better and intimate relationship.
We have so much to learn from Him! He will always be smarter and wiser. The best we can do is sit, listen, learn and apply.
God bless each and every heart, mind and soul this day as you praise Him. He’s worthy of our lifted voices to glorify and magnify His holy Name.
Here’s a Psalm I read yesterday morning way before I even seen the television show last night. Isn’t God so smart?!! He knew exactly what His plans were with me and I am tickled pink! Here is goes:
Psalm 148
Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord from the heavens;

praise him in the heights!

Praise him, all his angels;

praise him, all his hosts!

Praise him, sun and moon,

praise him, all you shining stars!

Praise him, you highest heavens,

and you waters above the heavens!

Let them praise the name of the Lord!

For he commanded and they were created.

And he established them forever and ever;

he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.
Praise the Lord from the earth,

you great sea creatures and all deeps,

fire and hail, snow and mist,

stormy wind fulfilling his word!

Mountains and all hills,

fruit trees and all cedars!

Beasts and all livestock,

creeping things and flying birds!

Kings of the earth and all peoples,

princes and all rulers of the earth!

Young men and maidens together,

old men and children!

Let them praise the name of the Lord,

for his name alone is exalted;

his majesty is above earth and heaven.

He has raised up a horn for his people,

praise for all his saints,

for the people of Israel who are near to him.

Praise the Lord! (Psalm 148:1-14 ESV)

* May The Lord add a blessing to the reading and hearing of His most holy word. Amen.

Weathering the Storm

A moment of encouragement to share with you all~

Have you even felt as if you were never going to make it out of the storm in one piece, if at all? Of course you have. We all have felt this way at one time or another but we have made it through because you and I are still here. We did not give up. We held on to a hope that was lingering in our very souls. That Hope is Jesus.

Today’s inspiration came from a beautiful surprise awaiting me out in the lawn. It was a butterfly (of course ) if you have come to know a little bit about me through my blog or as a friend that you have met in person. I love them dearly. How much joy they bring to my heart even when I am not feeling all that chipper. I manage to form a smile on my face and in my heart. I can say that the same applies with the Word of God and the comfort it brings me as I draw nearer to the Lord more and more.

Let’s just say that today turned out a bit different.

It was storming earlier today and I must say that it was coming down hard. I know that this is not the best looking butterfly but it’s life had meaning before it passed away. You see….. it was lying out in the grass on its back perishing away as an ant was most likely feeding on it. As much as I wanted to rescue it, I had to allow nature to take its course. After it died, I had my son bring it into the house inside a box on a paper towel.

My heart ached for this butterfly. To see it all tattered and lifeless pierced me within, yet at the same time it brought revelation. It took me back to scripture and how significant it is to our own lives. We all know that a butterfly starts off as a caterpillar and then evolves from there. It is a process of transforming. (metamorphosis) Jesus does that with us. He changes us. No matter what the outside looks like, we are being transformed on the inside.

We are under the Master’s care as we go through hardships and uncomfortable circumstances. We may look worse on the outside to others and ourselves but our inside is messed up even more. As believers, we cannot always escape from the pain. God will allow us to go through things just to bring us closer to Him and to repair us.

Scripture says this:

Cast Down but Unconquered

We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. (2 Corinthians 4:8-10 NKJV)

Seeing the Invisible

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NKJV)

Bind the Word as a garland around your neck and write it on your heart.

Be Encouraged

“Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:3-6).

“My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:20-23).

“My son, keep my words, and treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live, and my law as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart” (Proverbs 7:1-3).
