Longing to Stay Thirsty

O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me.

Psalms 63:1-8 NKJV

By the illustrated picture and scripture you can begin to understand what we may look like within when we are separated from the Lord. We should always thirst for Him and his righteousness, longing for His presence.

Thinking we can get by today and maybe tomorrow without Him passes your mind. Eh… let’s push it a whole week then stretch it a month or so. Perhaps stress begins to kick in a little more, you’re moody and not handling situations as you once have. There’s no peace at all. No sleep at night. Just tossing and turning becoming agitated at the littlest things.

Do you wonder why?

As I sat reading the Word, my mind began to wander. It was if I could clutch my heart from the inside and say “Lord please don’t let go! I can’t do everyday without You.” While it is not he who let’s go, it is us who begin to slip away.

Now I tend to look for things to snap a picture of to bring to life with my photography camera or phone time to time. So as I was reading the above scripture I had to find something outdoors. Didn’t take me long at all. (thank you Jesus)

Just a reminder that we must, I repeat must stay in constant fellowship with the Lord. There are days when we need to be “watered” a little more than others so that means getting up a little earlier before we start our day, using our lunch break to hang out with Him by ourselves rather than a co-worker and/or even turning the television off or whatever pass time you use to wind down (social media/gaming, etc..) to spend with Him. Gaining a refreshing is always a good thing. The longer we put this time off the more we dry out.

You don’t want to do this and neither do I.

Remember that laziness and procrastination will do nothing more than hinder and hurt us. So who doesn’t like to feel rejuvenated and at peace? Nobody but the devil who likes nothing but chaos, distraction, anger, fear, false peace and anything else that’s not of God to come from us and out of us. He is the father of lies. Now we can’t blame him for everything but we don’t want to help him out either. So let’s take each new day we are given by The Almighty and soak up and saturate our minds and lives with His living and active Word that is good and nourishing for our souls.

Stay thirsty my friend…
