This Christmas: Praying for the Nations

This Christmas…

Praying for the Nations and how the Lord will lead His people to bless them, to share the Gospel with those lost, those walking in darkness and many who chosen to reject the Truth.

This day, this hour, this season.

Pray. Seek. Ask. Listen

Oh how my heart yearns for the salvation of many this day, this Christmas season. Jesus is the greatest gift any person can receive that will last and stands the test of time. He will not fade, there is no new program or upgrade. He’s the same past, present and future. The latest and greatest gadgets, fashion and material possessions will be forgotten. Some will attain such things and some will not. Are they really worth stressing over this holiday season? No, but it’s done anyway.

My heart is for the Nations. I can’t help but pray and seek guidance in what to do. My mind travels to far away places wondering what groups of peoples have never ever heard the name Jesus. Have never ever heard the Gospel or given the opportunity to receive the gift of salvation.  Many will perish because of lack of knowledge, many will perish because they choose to not receive. How this hurts my heart.

Some nights and days I have to just go before the Lord pleading with Him over such people. I literally begin to feel my eyes well up with tears for those I have never laid eyes on let alone know where they live. I care. I can’t help but care because when this life ends we all will be somewhere for eternity.

Jesus Prays for All Believers

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;  that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.  And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:  I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.  O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me.  And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” John 17:20‭-‬26 NKJV

Sharing this message with you all was just presses upon my heart. What you do after reading it is between you and the Father. Many lives are at risk. While it’s a personal decision one must make to take that step of faith to receive salvation we that belong to the Kingdom can play an active role somehow right where we are. I desire to do missionary work afar off but it may not be my season. Perhaps my work can be done right here where I live. The homeless, the women and children who are prostituted that begin to accept this life as acceptable, those on their death beds, those living a life of crime, those living for gods that are false. Many are spiritually blinded with hardened hearts and deaf ears. Oh that the scales would come off.

Today is just a raw moment to wear my heart on my sleeve and ask each and every one of you to pray and see what the Lord speaks to you, to see how you can take part in a matter that truly makes one appreciate the Life given to us so that we can be a part of His family.

Forever.

So let’s all pray for the Nations so that they too can be a part of the family. To celebrate Christmas for what and Who it’s really about.

From my heart to yours with love,

Terra

Are you Available?

image

I know that the Lord is speaking to me. Prayers that I have lifted up to Him are being answered. My life should first and foremost be about living for God and walking His Word out in my life.

If you don’t mind, I would like to speak to the ladies for minute. (though this applies to the Body of Christ as a whole)

Ladies, may we not be complacent. There is so much out in this world that we can be doing. We have influence to use for all the right reasons. As godly women will we just sit back or become the active hands, feet and mouthpieces for Christ ? Pray and ask the Lord to stir up the desires that may be dormant in your heart, to wash away any thoughts that tell you that you are not capable of doing a certain task.

If God brings you to it He will bring you through it.

The Word tells us:

Philippians 4:13 NKJV
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

So…………..Are you available?

All I Need for Christmas is Jesus

I simply cannot explain these feelings that have been welling up in my soul lately as we approach Christmas. While Jesus is the reason for the season, like a flower blooming petal after petal, a swarming of love and adoration for Christ has covered me like an abundance of sweet honey reserved just for the best. Jesus Christ is our best. He is the greatest gift we could ever receive. Not just for Christmas, but for all time.

All I need for Christmas is Jesus.

Teaching my children why we celebrate Christmas is very important. While decorating for the holidays, giving and receiving gifts comes with tradition, the main focus is on Christ and His coming to earth in the form of man. (starting off as a baby of course). Lately I have being drawing closer to Him asking that my eyes be opened like never before and that my ears be tentative to my surroundings. Having a little talk with Jesus is like chicken noodle soup for the soul. That’s just my opinion.

I remember some years ago that I would become overwhelmed with the Christmas season approaching. It was more emotional than physical. I would become saddened and somewhat lethargic. I say this because my eyes were set on the wrong things and I was always “thirsty”.

I’m not one to do the Christmas shopping in my house for the most part. Thankfully it has always been my husband because no one would get anything most likely had it been left up to me to go out in the chaos and mass of people rushing, shoving, cursing and just flat-out been mean-spirited. Plus, I don’t have that kind of patience. Having 5 babies back to back kept me busy so it just became easier for my dear husband to do. I digress but for a moment!

My thoughts always went back to my childhood. While I had a pretty decent life growing up, I always felt something missing.

Jesus wasn’t there.

Feeling confused and happy at the same time was just weird. Plain old strange and yet I managed to get through another holiday season. I could not wait for the holidays to pass.

Recently, my heart was on a couple of senior citizens who were in need of some items that they needed. It was an article I caught in the newspaper that came from the aid of the Salvation Army. I told my husband about it and that I wanted to sponsor the people’s needs. While my eyes glazed over the many people young and old with a wish list, I wondered even more about those lost. The lost who needed Jesus; the very One who is our ever-present help, comfort and aid.

I began to cry. Not just because some cannot afford material needs and wants, but that many go lacking without a Savior. How often we walk daily without Him. As Christians and sinners alike ,but first as human beings, we find ourselves at times trying to do things on our own. We try to make things happen within our own power and might. We fix our eyes on higher prizes and treasures beyond our means. Some are just desires to want, want, want. Fleshly things. Things that will pass. Treasures that will not go with us on a U-Haul when we leave this old world.

Getting caught up over-shopping and over-spending will give anyone a headache and then possible regret for debt than may take a while to pay off when we “rob Peter to pay Paul”. That’s a saying I got from my Mom. Maybe you’ve heard of it before.

Nevertheless, we need peace and true joy. It can only be found in Christ Jesus. He will make us whole. He can satisfy our deepest needs. Will you invite Him into your life? Will you  allow God to direct your life, your finances, your will, wants and your plans that they will align with His?

While I am not attempting to take away your joy of shopping for your friends and loved ones, I just want to provide you with the opportunity to receive the greatest gift of all this year as we bring 2013 to a close. Health may have fallen, bills may be behind and loved ones may have turned their backs on you but know that there is a risen Savior who is waiting to receive you today.

I want to share with you a song I heard on the radio yesterday. I don’t drive much if I can help it but when I do, I tend to listen to uplifting music to carry me throughout my day. This song about had me in tears. No matter what we are going through, we must know that we cannot do anything in this life without the Lord no matter how hard we try. I know for myself that I cannot walk without Him holding my hand. This song has become one of my favorite and it lingers within me to the point of praise.

All we NEED for Christmas is Jesus Christ. If we trust God, He will provide all that we need and bless us with our wants. By His grace we have what we have. May we be thankful for the little and great. Be blessed one and all. You are loved, cherished and prayed for.

“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you  not of more value than they?” But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6: 26, 33 NKJV

To God be the glory now and forevermore,

In Bloom: Testify to the goodness of the Lord!

In one of those moments when I am unsure of myself, God sends reminders that He will be with me if I just be obedient. I don’t have to wait to see the outcome to trust Him. Faith is the step I take when it comes to the unknown. A couple of days ago I noticed my purple iris flowers budding and then one in full bloom early this morning as I got the kids off to school so I grabbed my camera as I gave kisses, hugs and words of blessings in route to them walking up the driveway.

This is the second part of my testimony.

The first part began a few years ago as I found myself always posting a message of encouragement to others on Facebook. Little did I know or realize that I was being watched. My words were taking root in the heart of many. My passion had always been in the children’s ministry at church. Babies have pretty much been my soft spot since a teen so I found myself nurturing that profession. Well one day a pastor’s wife that I am friends with pointed out this gift of exhortation that I seemingly carry.( this just shows how much I pay attention or at least paid attention to what I was saying and doing because it flowed naturally out of me. The pure joy I felt inside every morning I could not help but pour out to the world of Facebook people I encountered so I had no motives to gain attention of self but of the joy of the Lord.)

Before I knew it, things began to change as I learned things about myself in the Lord. Not exactly like a snowball effect but to some extent it seemed that way. Facebook would become something of the past for me. Little did I know I would be blogging and getting into photography. Now please hear me out. I am not tooting my horn because I have not one to toot! I went through some thangs! Happy, sad, frustrated, a little depression, lack of patience and confusion all mixed up into one. God was shifting me and taking me out of my comfort zone.

“What do I know about photography and blogging?” I asked myself. “Nothing!” All that I knew was that things were changing and I was uncomfortable with it initially. The blogging came first. The photography a little ways down the road. Oh my gosh! Tylenol became my BFF for a little while but in the process God brought people into my life to help me along the way! Thank you Lord!

Okay I see that I have 15 minutes to wrap this up before it hits midnight my time so let me get to my point.

I have a purpose for this post. God has placed upon my heart to open up a Testimony page/corner. Now I am still a bit lost at times on this blog set-up page but I know that I will figure it out soon. Now the reason is to encourage His children to always remember that His hand has been on you. Not just during the good times but just as much during the hard times. Our words carry weight. Our words can empower one another to press on and push through. We all have a testimony to at least ONE thing He has done in our lives right?!! I know there are more than just one because if we think back on how He saved us, provided for us and our families and our friends, the events we see on tv knowing that it was no one but Him who brought a miracle to light right before our very own eyes.

He has healed the sick when a doctor cannot begin to explain how someone’s body turned around miraculously. It was Jesus! It was He who placed it on the heart of others to financially bless someone who was in need. The spoken word, the seeds planted, the many prayers calling out to Him for a loved one to give their life over to Him for years had been answered, rebellious children, addiction to drugs and alcohol, broken relationships, homelessness, widowed etc. Do you see where I am going with this? I hope so!

We need to share with one another the goodness of the Lord. Whether it’s something that He done in our lives or that of someone we know we ought to share it. Give Him the honor and glory!! May we as brothers and sisters lift one another up in prayer and to also rejoice with one another when God has done great things!

With this said, had I not complied with the Lord and followed His guidance, I would not be here blogging today. I would not be finding myself outside in the rain, the heat and the snow taking pictures of any and everything! What I thought would never be possible for myself to say or do when put on the spot (in my own thinking) , God already provided. I just needed to walk in the direction He sent me and He would speak for me. He would show His love through my typing, my heart and my compassion as well as my desire to capture the nature of His creations on camera that was freely given to us. There are so many things that we take for granted. It’s good to sit still and just listen instead of telling Him what we think we can not do like Moses for example.

Exodus 4:

10 Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” 11 The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

We really have no excuse now do we? God will equip His servants. He will not leave us stranded or abandoned. He provides and is faithful as always. He keeps His word. I stepped out so here I am! Far from being a public speaker or famed writer but I speak from the heart and with truth of the things placed upon me to do. I am just a willing vessel wanting to share the goodness of the Lord and what He has done in my life in hopes to inspire another soul to be encouraged.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

Can I get an AMEN?!!

I look forward to setting up a page or at least a continual post so that we can fellowship with one another and share our testimonies! God is good all the time and all the time God is GOOD!

*My time has run out 29 minutes ago. Sorry!

Blessings one and all in Christ Jesus….

Gifts in Abundance

20111212-103508.jpg

Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

I wanted to take this time to thank each any every one of you for your gifts of love and support shown to me on my blog. Your warm prayers and encouragement as well as Likes and Follows have meant a lot to me since I came to WordPress. I’ve been blogging almost a year now but it has been trying, yet greatly fruitful as I have been sowing seeds and reaping a harvest full of blessings from God and through you.

I want you to know that nothing you have written to me or shared though your own posts have been overlooked or taken for granted regardless if I have commented or not. You’ve spoken into my life and it has stretched me even more to step outside of myself and to touch the lives of others. Thank you.

What an amazing and wonderful God we serve! Praise his name!!

The gifts you have blessed me with as well as my family means so very much. Words really can never express my gratitude. I honestly pray for you all when you come to mind and I ask the Lord to bless you, watch over and protect you and your loved ones, to give you the strength, words, wisdom, knowledge, a stedfast foot and deep roots among other things to prosper you with His abundance as you go forth into the world being the hands and feet, to be that beacon of light unto others, to be a living example of Christ reaching out and sowing seeds of righteousness so that many lost in this world would walk up out of darkness into the great freedom, love, presence and salvation of the King! Be blessed in all you do!

There’s no greater gift (s) you can give me than what you’ve shown thus far. Much love from the Lord from my heart to yours……

The Vine and the Branches

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[k] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
9“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

The Relationship of Believers to Each Other

12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. 15I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17This is my command: Love each other. ( John15:1-17 NIV )

Your sister in Christ,

Terra
