Invitation to the thirsty: Take me to the King

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. (John 6:35 NIV)

There is a constant struggle of the mind and flesh to live right. Pressure arises from east to west, north to the south. There’s no escaping when we sit in the hope and trust of man. We will constantly be thirsty wanting more and more of this worlds offerings. We will never be content in relationships, content within ourselves, content with our thoughts, content with where we are financially. We are chasing what we do not have…..

The enemy will lie and distract you from going to the Lord to declare what you are in need of, to repent to Him of the transgressions you have committed; the sins that keep you separated from communing and having a meaningful relationship with the Holy One.

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. (Luke 11:9, 10 NKJV)

Even those in Christ endure hardships and can fall away or even merely distance themselves when they fall short of God’s mercy and grace. The enemy stays busy. He will not relent. Do not allow lies to deceive you into thinking that you cannot turn back to the Lord after doing wrong, to feel that you will never be good enough, that you will not be on the same level as other believers and followers of the Lord. These are lies.

Jesus Himself was tempted by the evil one but He sinned not. ( Hebrews 2:18, 4:15, Matthew 4:1-11)

Stand guard and be prayerful at all times.

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Hebrews 4:16 NIV)

Someone will always have better, greater or less than. Whatever it may be that we long for, we are chasing after it. It’s a busyness that leads to nowhere. We are too busy trying to keep up with “The Joneses”, too busy trying to outdo others, too busy scheming and hustling to make way for our light to shine.

We become so caught up in ourselves while failing to realize that we will never be content or happy right where we are.

Now I’m not saying that we cannot have great material wealth and gain but there should be balance. Are we sharing with those who have less or are we harboring the blessings God gave us? Nothing we have came by chance or luck. God blessed you and I. No amount of worldly wisdom and gain will bring much fortune if Jesus Christ is not the center of your life.

This fortune I speak of is spiritual. Worldly fortune will pass and be remembered no more. Spiritual wealth is for eternity.

Emotional turmoil will have you closing off your thoughts. Like a bottle of shaken up soda, it eventually will burst. You try to twist the cap off but with no avail, not much takes place. Frustration and anger, depression and hopelessness begin to face you. This is because you are working in your own strength.

Someone greater, Someone stronger and wiser is needed. His name is King Jesus.

Take all that you are and all that you are not to the throne. Only Jesus can fix you. Only He is able to heal you, repair you, mend your brokenness, provide stability in your life in how you think and act.

It’s time to stop chasing the wind. It’s time to stop chasing after meaningless things of this world. They are not conducive. Jesus is.

If you know you thirst for righteousness and are looking for peace, Jesus is the answer. He is the Great Physician. Allow Him to come into your life and heal you beginning right now.

Do not put off this very moment. Stop fighting and debating within yourself. Stop reasoning within your mind. Stop reasoning with society. Satan wants nothing more than to destroy you. He will continue to rob you of peace if you allow him to.

If He (Jesus) has come into my life and saved me from myself many times over, I know and I believe with all of my heart that He can do it for you too!

Salvation awaits you today. Will you accept the Invitation?
