Wellspring of Wisdom

Understanding is a wellspring of life to him who has it. But the correction of fools is folly. Proverbs 16:22 NKJV

We all need counseling whether we think we do or not. The Living Word is filled with thought provoking messages to us.

Question is will we listen. The Book of Proverbs gives us many insightful lessons to gainfully understand and learn that are worth applying to our daily living.

Are you willing to draw out the counseling that lies within the heart? To overlook it will only hurt you in the long run. It’s not worth learning after the fact. It’s not that someone will need to say ‘I told you so’ in order to bring you shame but to let you know that wisdom has its purpose and that they’ve  learned some things along the way.

Don’t run from wise Biblical counseling. The truth may be uncomfortable at first because the flesh and the carnal mind does not want to align with it but I can tell you first hand that the Lord knows what He’s talking about.

This wellspring of Wisdom continues to flow. It never ends and will bring the light of life into you each day as you seek to follow it.

Encourage and strengthen your heart always in Christ Jesus. Allow Him to take you into the deep. Live and learn to the fullest.

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; Teach a just man,  and he will increase in learning. “The fear of the Lord  is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you. Proverbs 9:9‭-‬11 NKJV

Be Wise in Speech and Action

From a wise mind comes wise speech; the words of the wise are persuasive. Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. (Proverbs 16:23, 24 NLT)

Our words and actions will either make us or break us. This stands to be true because they can affect others.

In the Book of James, scriptures tells us: For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. (James 3:2-10, 13-18 NKJV)

In today’s world, we need more love. Agape love. We need more wise people living the example Christ Jesus set before us. No we are not perfect. This I know. Christ alone is perfect. He set the example. He lived, walked and talked with wisdom.

This is something we all can benefit from. Our Heavenly Father will give it to us if we ask. Question is what will we do with it if we receive it.

Wisdom
How much better to get wisdom than gold, and good judgment than silver! The path of the virtuous leads away from evil; whoever follows that path is safe. Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall. (Proverbs 16:16-18 NLT)

Be wise, be encouraging and be a light of truth, integrity and faith. I pray that your lips may be filled with peaceful and encouraging words and that your heart be full of mercy, love and compassion.

If You Love Me You’d Tell Me the Truth

Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. (Proverbs 27:17 KJV)

This scripture could not be more poignant.

Amazingly, the Lord’s hand has still been upon me even when I have become frustrated, even when I have shed tears out of compassion and a lack of understanding with the questions of Why, What and How juggling around in my brain. I know I’ve said “amazingly” but in all knowing, it has been His mercy and grace that has kept me. It has been His compassion and patience to show me the very things I needed to hear and see through His eyes and understanding.

Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22 NKJV)

If we love someone, we will not give up on them. If we love them, we will do what’s right for the sake of righteousness.

May we be merciful upon those who bring strife, upon those that seemingly make something out of nothing, upon those who fall away from what’s right to start walking, talking and acting as if they never knew God’s truths. If they are not a believer and follower of Christ, the fruit we show bears witness to Whom we belong to and how we live out life as an example.

We all hurt and express our pain and emotions in many ways. Through our longsuffering, love and patience with others, a heap of coals could be removed from their heads if we treat them in a Christ-like manner.

No one is perfect.

Jesus met us right where we were in all of our mess waiting to clean us up, love on us, be our Friend who would never lie to us just to make us feel better. He sharpens us more than any other friend we could ever have in our lives just to give us a life that would be easier to bear spiritually by living right and doing so accordingly.

Love Above All Else
