Wellspring of Wisdom

Understanding is a wellspring of life to him who has it. But the correction of fools is folly. Proverbs 16:22 NKJV

We all need counseling whether we think we do or not. The Living Word is filled with thought provoking messages to us.

Question is will we listen. The Book of Proverbs gives us many insightful lessons to gainfully understand and learn that are worth applying to our daily living.

Are you willing to draw out the counseling that lies within the heart? To overlook it will only hurt you in the long run. It’s not worth learning after the fact. It’s not that someone will need to say ‘I told you so’ in order to bring you shame but to let you know that wisdom has its purpose and that they’ve  learned some things along the way.

Don’t run from wise Biblical counseling. The truth may be uncomfortable at first because the flesh and the carnal mind does not want to align with it but I can tell you first hand that the Lord knows what He’s talking about.

This wellspring of Wisdom continues to flow. It never ends and will bring the light of life into you each day as you seek to follow it.

Encourage and strengthen your heart always in Christ Jesus. Allow Him to take you into the deep. Live and learn to the fullest.

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; Teach a just man,  and he will increase in learning. “The fear of the Lord  is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you. Proverbs 9:9‭-‬11 NKJV

Value in Wisdom: Chasing the Wind as a Busybody

*Dear Readers, I initially wrote this post Feb 2012. I thought it would be good to share it with those who I did not have the honor of meeting through the blog at the time. Enjoy

Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve,everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;
nothing was gained under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 2:11 NIV)

20120210-120349.jpg

Take inventory of what’s going on in your life. Eliminate ( cut and prune ) things that are not profitable. Staying in direct line of the will of God that He has for you will profit greatly and it will bring Him the glory knowing you are acting in obedience.

For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit. (Ecclesiastes 2:26 KJV)

Stepping back to observe and weigh the things you say and do on a daily basis gives you a broader perspective of what’s really important. Pleasing God should be your first choice; not the last resort if you seek to live righteously for Him. A time of rest may be in order. This time of rest I am referring to is of stepping back from things that are optional and/or not of great importance. If you have a job that pays the bills then that is not what I am talking about. It’s those social gatherings, projects, idle time given or used that is of your free leisure and things along those lines. Now I’m not saying that they are not valuable or of good service to the Lord even if it’s volunteering within your local church. What I am saying though is that there is a season to everything. (Ecclesiastes 3)

Don’t hinder your growth and time with God if He is wanting to spend some alone time with you. This is something you should want as well. Doing so will develop a more personal and intimate relationship with Him as well as building character within yourself.

Chasing the wind doesn’t give you perfect peace. Jesus does. Running around as a busybody trying to make good on pleasures and vanities of this world, you will continue to search after things in life that brings temporary joy that will soon dissipate. Rich or poor we will all leave this earth with nothing in our hands. The life we live ( in Christ ) the values, integrity, service unto the Lord that is shared with others matters. No treasures, beauty or excellent education will be of gain or profit in heaven.

* spoken by Jesus “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26 KJV)

Don’t become consumed with the ways of this world that profit you nothing if you want to truly be grounded in God. It is very easy to get caught up doing “good works” that eventually may lead you astray from choosing ” the better part”; receive the word of God that it may be applied to your life and that of others. With wisdom comes discernment and knowledge. Peace and joy with contentment will be your anchor for it is the Lord Almighty keeping you with a steadfast heart and mind.

Which will you choose?

Little children, keep yourselves from idols (false gods)–[from anything and everything that would occupy the place in your heart due to God, from any sort of substitute for Him that would take first place in your life]. Amen (so let it be). (1 John 5:21 AMP)

Time & Seasons

20121213-092405.jpgPhoto Credit: etsy.com

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 KJV)

Nothing in life has a guarantee but Jesus and all that is given to us from the Father. Like seasons… people, places, circumstances and health changes.

There is a season to every matter in life. God allows this to happen for a reason. We may not always understand the “when/where/why” part of it all, but if we allow The Lord to do what He does for our healthy wellbeing then I pray we trust in the outcome even if it hurts.

Letting go will not always be easy. Looking back seems tempting but will not help us one bit. Sorrow is temporary but joy will return. Pruning is needed at times for new fruit to bear and flourish. Prayerfully and patiently we should trust in what God is wanting to do in our lives. Attempting to do things our own way and with our own understanding can harm us in the long run.

Scripture says: There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. (Proverbs 14:12 NKJV)

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5 KJV)

Always remember that Father knows best. He knows us better than we know ourselves so may we stand back and allow Him to work in our lives for the sake of building us up and growing us far beyond the human thought of attainment.

Be blessed and encouraged as you pass through your season. Jehovah-Jireh ( God our Provider ) will supply and bring comfort.

In Christ Jesus I urge to to keep hope, faith and belief in all that our Lord promises to do for those who love Him and are called His.

Love and blessings,

Terra

Keep On Prayin’!

20120222-091030.jpg
For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. (Colossians 1:9-12 NKJV)

If you only knew the joy that cease not within me when I pray for you my brothers and sisters in the Lord! Boasting is not what aim for or what I am doing, but it is to keep one another lifted up and encouraged in the Lord! There is power in numbers as we lift up our voices to the Almighty asking for his presence to be manifested in this life we journey. May the blind see, the deaf hear and those without a voice speak up! O, that healing in the mind, body and soul take place. Let our bones shut up with fire; that consuming furnace of eternal bliss, stir up a bountiful worship and praise of righteousness and joy to persevere in all things we set our hearts and minds to do in Christ Jesus! Hallelujah!!

Seek to gain the spiritual wisdom, knowledge, discernment of the King. Loose the shackles that bind you from only thinking of yourselves. Pick up the phone, send an email or text or even pay a visit to your fellow brethren letting them know they are thought of! Extend a smile and hug if possible! Prayers and encouragement plays a vital role. We are mighty, we are victorious, we are conquerors, we are bold and courageous in THE NAME OF JESUS.

PRAYER WARRIORS STEP OUT!

Authority has been given! Use it. Success has been done! Jesus paved the way! Walk in it with assurance and faith!

20120222-094756.jpg

Let your fruit bear witness to everything you do for the sake of the Kingdom! Step out and see how good the Lord is when we love thy neighbor as he loves us! Ask for His love to radiate through you that it may shine into the life of others. There’s no particular way. God made you and knows you better than anyone. He knows the treasures that are deep inside of you. May his anointing fall fresh. Use your gifts and let the joy of the Lord be an invigorating scent of perfume drawing all men to believe that better days are ahead.

God bless you all!

Seeking Help & Rescue from The Lord : He Hasn’t Failed Me Yet

20111012-125931.jpg

Sharing my thoughts and God‘s rescue…..
In regards to my memory loss the other day, God let me know that I wasn’t alone for he was with me. Though I have moments of temporary memory loss never to know what was said to me or what event even occurred ( unless someone was around me to know I wasn’t in the current moment ) His Word has been embedded in my heart and that’s something I’ll never forget.

God gave me peace and rest ( physical and spiritual ) even when I could not understand why such things happen for no reason. Scriptures were given to me for comfort and understanding. My tears of fear and anxiety turned into tears of ” Thank you Lord for blessing me, comforting me through my tears when I felt lost and alone, unable to recapture memories I’ll never know of. Thank you for Your everlasting protection before and after my seizure activity. Thank you for Your promises over my life. ”

I can’t sit, ponder and overwhelm myself with anxiety of the ” could have ” moments that never took place, though FEAR was desperately trying to consume my thoughts because God stepped in and rescued me. I was safely sitting down folding laundry not having moved from that spot. I didn’t fall down the stairs, I wasn’t cooking and a fire could have started, I wasn’t even driving….. potentially putting myself or anyone on the road at risk. So why was I really upset and shedding tears? The root of it all:

I WASN’T IN CONTROL!!

Shame on me for I know better. I’m far from perfect and the Lord knows this. I see why He stepped in and rescued me from myself and the road of mental destruction I could have caused myself that day. For by the Holy Spirit my heart was quickened with the Word and my mind shielded from negative thinking.

God didn’t bring me this far to leave me I know. I’ve been through worse times than this and he brought me out so this little situation is nothing in comparison. I’m doing much better. My boat was rocked just enough for God to say ” Hey! Just wanted to make sure you know that I’m still God and you aren’t. I want you to be aware at all times that you are to lean on Me in everything you face even when you don’t see it coming in advance. Trust Me and Me only.” So…………. okay. I hear you Lord. I know You are building me up, strengthening me, preparing me for greater things ahead. I’m fine with that. I’m past the baby stages in my walk with You. I want what You want for my life. I want to grow more and more in You, seeking you on purpose everyday for wisdom, knowledge, a greater purpose than just living on this earth.

Thank you my God for feeding my soul and spirit with the power of the Word that provides nourishment for my daily needs. My needs are greater than my wants and You provide each and every time. Thank you for giving me Your rest. No matter what’s going inside and out, deep within me Your peace and joy is there to sustain me. Righteousness goes before me, a stedfast foot to pursue holiness keeps me as I yearn to grow closer to you. My life is not my own. It belongs to You. Take me oh Lord and use me for your glory.

Scripture References:

 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.(
Isaiah 41:10 NIV)

The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]! (Habakkuk 3:19 AMP)

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. (Isaiah 55:8 NIV)

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, (2 Corinthians 10:4, 5 NKJV)

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. (Colossians 3:15, 16 NIV)

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:17, 18 NIV)

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, whot have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28 NIV)

Are you facing any physical challenges or afflictions? Take on faith, hope, courage and patience as you wait on the Lord to see you through.

For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:1-8 NIV)

” Dear Lord, I continually thank You for being The Rock, our Foundation, The Well for the thirsty. I pray asking that we will always draw near to You and seek your face, never to grow weary in well doing even when we don’t see physical change for I know You are operating in the spirit of our beings maturing us. May we wait patiently on You, trusting and clinging to your truths, and as we wait, may the condition of our thoughts lead us to speak and act accordingly. In Jesus name ….. Amen. ”

Be blessed and strengthened in the Lord always,

Terra
