Who’s Watching Over You?

image

Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord  is your keeper; The Lord  is  your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore. Psalm 121:4-8 NKJV

So…. who’s watching over you? Is it your alarm system with all the cameras and sirens, a guard dog or perhaps your weapon(s). Maybe it’s all of them.

Do you have more trust in those things than the Lord?

Now I am not taking away from the things that can protect us from intruders but where does our true trust lie? Manmade items (well God created the dogs) that can fail at any given time or the Lord who has the power to stop anyone or anything that threatens to take your life?

Above all I pray that it’s the Lord. I gave this some thought as I was walking back home with my daughter and her pet. We become so comfortable putting our trust in many things and people alike.

God watches over us with a careful eye. He does not slumber and he does not sleep. How about that. He’s our Protector 24/7. He does not take the night shift and sleeps when it’s someone else’s turn. There is no electricity and back-up generator hooked up to Him if his system fails. He doesn’t even have a weapon that requires bullets when it’s emptied.

He is our Refuge and Fortress. Tenderly and with much affection God watches over us. He has even given the angels responsibility  to watch over us.

Psalm 91:11 NIV
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;

Though nothing in this life is guaranteed and we are all bound to leave at some point, remember that if you perish by the hand of evil, the soul cannot be killed. The Lord Jesus tells us:

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28

So wherever you are at this moment, take comfort in knowing that we live and serve a mighty God who takes notice all day long. He and his angels are concerned enough to watch over us every minute of the day and night.

May your sleep be peaceful and you rest well for God is……….. WATCHING OVER YOU.

“Father, I humbly come before You first giving honor and glory because You are worthy. I ask that Your people bow before You with all respect asking for forgiveness of their sins. May they take heart in knowing such truths about You. You are mighty to save. You are our greatest Protector. Our lives are in Your hands dear Lord. Please watch over every heart whether they see this message tonight or any given blessed day given to us. May the heavenly angels take charge guarding us and providing a hedge of protection. Let our faith and trust be placed more in You than in anything man can provide. With love in our hearts and peace within our minds cause us to rest in You and be assured that all is well. In wonderful name of Jesus I pray. Amen”

  1. Tears are in my eyes as I read this. It’s the middle of the night and I’m up consoling my sick child once again..I know we are all in God’s mighty healing hands, and he does protect us from ALL THINGS! I’m so happy I read this, and that you are an obedient vessel for our Lord and Savior! My trust is in Him!

  2. I needed to read this post. And the Lord knew that it would be today. Anniversary of an almost-dead marriage, and other problems don’t matter, as long as I have Jesus. I agree with our sister who commented above me-you are indeed an obedient vessel. And I’m so happy that you’re here sharing Jesus’ love with us.

  3. Sissy, you have my prayers always. In the midst of adversity He has kept you and will continue to. Keep looking to the hills from whence comes your help…. the Lord!! The Lord shows up and gives us what we need right on time. I am just a humble servant trying to be about His business and walk in obedience. I am encouraged by lives that touch mine such as you all here commenting. I am blessed and thankful. God bless you over and over again.
