This Christmas: Praying for the Nations

This Christmas…

Praying for the Nations and how the Lord will lead His people to bless them, to share the Gospel with those lost, those walking in darkness and many who chosen to reject the Truth.

This day, this hour, this season.

Pray. Seek. Ask. Listen

Oh how my heart yearns for the salvation of many this day, this Christmas season. Jesus is the greatest gift any person can receive that will last and stands the test of time. He will not fade, there is no new program or upgrade. He’s the same past, present and future. The latest and greatest gadgets, fashion and material possessions will be forgotten. Some will attain such things and some will not. Are they really worth stressing over this holiday season? No, but it’s done anyway.

My heart is for the Nations. I can’t help but pray and seek guidance in what to do. My mind travels to far away places wondering what groups of peoples have never ever heard the name Jesus. Have never ever heard the Gospel or given the opportunity to receive the gift of salvation.  Many will perish because of lack of knowledge, many will perish because they choose to not receive. How this hurts my heart.

Some nights and days I have to just go before the Lord pleading with Him over such people. I literally begin to feel my eyes well up with tears for those I have never laid eyes on let alone know where they live. I care. I can’t help but care because when this life ends we all will be somewhere for eternity.

Jesus Prays for All Believers

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;  that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.  And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:  I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.  O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me.  And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” John 17:20‭-‬26 NKJV

Sharing this message with you all was just presses upon my heart. What you do after reading it is between you and the Father. Many lives are at risk. While it’s a personal decision one must make to take that step of faith to receive salvation we that belong to the Kingdom can play an active role somehow right where we are. I desire to do missionary work afar off but it may not be my season. Perhaps my work can be done right here where I live. The homeless, the women and children who are prostituted that begin to accept this life as acceptable, those on their death beds, those living a life of crime, those living for gods that are false. Many are spiritually blinded with hardened hearts and deaf ears. Oh that the scales would come off.

Today is just a raw moment to wear my heart on my sleeve and ask each and every one of you to pray and see what the Lord speaks to you, to see how you can take part in a matter that truly makes one appreciate the Life given to us so that we can be a part of His family.

Forever.

So let’s all pray for the Nations so that they too can be a part of the family. To celebrate Christmas for what and Who it’s really about.

From my heart to yours with love,

Terra

From inside my door I have captured so many great memories, revelations, blessings and friendships.  It’s because of YOU my dear readers from all across the world.  I thank you for your support, love, prayers and encouragement over the year. God surely has blessed me time and time again!

I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as we reflect on the reason why we celebrate this time of year!! I pray that you and yours enter into a New Year growing more and more intimate with He who has done more than we could ever grasp in a lifetime.

Continue to walk and talk in love, build one another up and serve with a whole heart filled with gratitude as if doing unto the Lord always. Seek His heart and ways that it will be edifying to the Kingdom. May His mercy and grace be with you, His peace and joy reside within yet shine out for the entire world to see! Be that light set up on a hill and tell those who will listen what the Lord has done in your life!

With love, prayers and encouragement I extend to you all so graciously in Christ our King,

Terra

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6 NKJV)

All I Need for Christmas is Jesus

I simply cannot explain these feelings that have been welling up in my soul lately as we approach Christmas. While Jesus is the reason for the season, like a flower blooming petal after petal, a swarming of love and adoration for Christ has covered me like an abundance of sweet honey reserved just for the best. Jesus Christ is our best. He is the greatest gift we could ever receive. Not just for Christmas, but for all time.

All I need for Christmas is Jesus.

Teaching my children why we celebrate Christmas is very important. While decorating for the holidays, giving and receiving gifts comes with tradition, the main focus is on Christ and His coming to earth in the form of man. (starting off as a baby of course). Lately I have being drawing closer to Him asking that my eyes be opened like never before and that my ears be tentative to my surroundings. Having a little talk with Jesus is like chicken noodle soup for the soul. That’s just my opinion.

I remember some years ago that I would become overwhelmed with the Christmas season approaching. It was more emotional than physical. I would become saddened and somewhat lethargic. I say this because my eyes were set on the wrong things and I was always “thirsty”.

I’m not one to do the Christmas shopping in my house for the most part. Thankfully it has always been my husband because no one would get anything most likely had it been left up to me to go out in the chaos and mass of people rushing, shoving, cursing and just flat-out been mean-spirited. Plus, I don’t have that kind of patience. Having 5 babies back to back kept me busy so it just became easier for my dear husband to do. I digress but for a moment!

My thoughts always went back to my childhood. While I had a pretty decent life growing up, I always felt something missing.

Jesus wasn’t there.

Feeling confused and happy at the same time was just weird. Plain old strange and yet I managed to get through another holiday season. I could not wait for the holidays to pass.

Recently, my heart was on a couple of senior citizens who were in need of some items that they needed. It was an article I caught in the newspaper that came from the aid of the Salvation Army. I told my husband about it and that I wanted to sponsor the people’s needs. While my eyes glazed over the many people young and old with a wish list, I wondered even more about those lost. The lost who needed Jesus; the very One who is our ever-present help, comfort and aid.

I began to cry. Not just because some cannot afford material needs and wants, but that many go lacking without a Savior. How often we walk daily without Him. As Christians and sinners alike ,but first as human beings, we find ourselves at times trying to do things on our own. We try to make things happen within our own power and might. We fix our eyes on higher prizes and treasures beyond our means. Some are just desires to want, want, want. Fleshly things. Things that will pass. Treasures that will not go with us on a U-Haul when we leave this old world.

Getting caught up over-shopping and over-spending will give anyone a headache and then possible regret for debt than may take a while to pay off when we “rob Peter to pay Paul”. That’s a saying I got from my Mom. Maybe you’ve heard of it before.

Nevertheless, we need peace and true joy. It can only be found in Christ Jesus. He will make us whole. He can satisfy our deepest needs. Will you invite Him into your life? Will you  allow God to direct your life, your finances, your will, wants and your plans that they will align with His?

While I am not attempting to take away your joy of shopping for your friends and loved ones, I just want to provide you with the opportunity to receive the greatest gift of all this year as we bring 2013 to a close. Health may have fallen, bills may be behind and loved ones may have turned their backs on you but know that there is a risen Savior who is waiting to receive you today.

I want to share with you a song I heard on the radio yesterday. I don’t drive much if I can help it but when I do, I tend to listen to uplifting music to carry me throughout my day. This song about had me in tears. No matter what we are going through, we must know that we cannot do anything in this life without the Lord no matter how hard we try. I know for myself that I cannot walk without Him holding my hand. This song has become one of my favorite and it lingers within me to the point of praise.

All we NEED for Christmas is Jesus Christ. If we trust God, He will provide all that we need and bless us with our wants. By His grace we have what we have. May we be thankful for the little and great. Be blessed one and all. You are loved, cherished and prayed for.

“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you  not of more value than they?” But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6: 26, 33 NKJV

To God be the glory now and forevermore,

Terra

Lamenting…… I can’t help but cry out

( crying and trying to keep it together )

First I want to say that this is straight from my heart. If there are any errors in my spelling or grammar, please forgive me. This is just raw feelings I cannot hold back.

I wonder if I am beginning to understand just a bit more of how God feels knowing that his children; his creations are dying every day without salvation that has been freely given to us by his Son Jesus. I gotta tell ya… this has been a week full of emotional highs and lows, learning and growing, planting and harvesting. My heart has been feeling sorrow and I never could really put my finger on why. God spoke to me in one word as I was walking past the kitchen this morning. LAMENTING

( This is where I break into full tears and go to my knees crying out for people I don’t even know )

Really. It’s time to come up out of our comfort zone and be about God’s business. We are called to go out and share the love of Christ, take care of the homeless, sick, shut in, the orphans, those lost in darkness who don’t even know who Jesus, let alone if they even believe in him. There is so much work to be done. No, we cannot force people to acknowledge Christ, repent and receive salvation and to live a life pleasing unto the King but we can be the mouth, the hands and feet in the Body of Christ, going about the earth being an example of the One we profess to be our all and all. Are we walking our talk? Are we showing a lifestyle that mirrors Christ to the best of our ability? If not, it is time to step out and find out.

I had the opportunity to go with my husband to pray over a woman in person who’s husband is dying of cancer that he never knew he had until he went into the hospital to have surgery for one thing, just to find out he has stage 4 lung cancer. She’s spiritually saved. He isn’t. So many emotions running through my mind, tears overflowing in my heart crying out to God pleading that some how, some way , this man’s life would be spared. That he will have the opportunity to accept Jesus into his life and receive salvation. I cried for this man out of love as if he was a member of my own household. I haven’t had the chance to meet this man in person because he is very ill. He was sleeping at the time, so it was not an appropriate time to do anything to disturb him because he is dealing with so much and in pain. A dear friend I have come to know ( Natalie ) came to mind and I emailed her in route to the home of the ailing. I’m so grateful that she received my message  before getting to the destination. I told her about what’s going on and she has been praying for this family as well since that day. It was on the way back home that my eyes were opened just a bit more to try and comprehend the LOVE Jesus has for us. It breaks our Father’s heart to see his beloveds hurting and in pain, struggling and leaving this earth sometimes by choice to never receive His love and eternal life with him. For me to love ONE person enough to cry my heart out until I was ready to puke, doesn’t even touch the surface of everyone in the world that Christ bore sins for and died a horrible death on the cross JUST so a way could be made for those to be in union with Father God and live with in heaven after they leave this earth. I can’t begin to imagine the magnitude of love and sacrifice He gave just for us.

How much are we willing to give of ourselves and our time to love thy neighbor as thyself?

You know what? God is a good God, an amazing Father, a merciful and grace filling Love in my life who patiently teaches me his ways even when I don’t understand, even when I stumble, even when my priorities are not in order every day. Through all this crying I have been doing, it’s typical for my body to start showing signs of a seizure because of the stress that crying does to me. But it has not come to pass. Thank you Father.

How my heart grieves; the sorrow that is weighing me down is actually making me stronger in Him to go out do works for the Kingdom. My actions speaks louder than words.

I’m not trying to break anyone’s Christmas spirit, but if you would, reflect on where you are in your life right now. If it wasn’t for Jesus coming into your life, where would you be? There are many people suffering mentally, physically and spiritually right now. Christmas shopping is the last of their worries. Someone has lost a loved one, someone is suffering from a bad case of depression, someone is grieving and mourning, someone is fighing for their life somewhere out there in this world. I can’t help but cry with them and over them, pleading their case before the Lord; taking their afflictions before his feet asking for healing and deliverance. I don’t have to know you to love you. It’s through Christ Jesus that I am able to truly love on you and want the best for you. So if you don’t know Christ at all, I pray that ministering angels are sent to you to be by your side and to speak his love into you. And if we ever cross paths, I will surely do my part to show His love and help you the best I can.

To God be the glory forever and always. Praises to I AM, The Holy One, my Fortress, the Great Physician, Healer, King of kings and Lord of lords in all the earth. Blessings of comfort and guidance from the Lord be with you.
