From Thy Lips…..

He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. (Proverbs 13:3 NKJV)

Words.

Words have the power to build up or tear down.

Words.

Words have the power to give hope, radiate light and to heal. They also have the power to hurt, breakdown, kill and destroy.

We as a people have a choice to plant seeds of life or death. This is a daily choice. There is no in between. Excuses of saying “Oh I was just kidding” or “You are just overly sensitive” doesn’t cut it.

Do not get me wrong because I am no one to point fingers. I am no saint. I have hurt people unintentionally along this life of mine. No one is perfect. It is our job to choose words carefully. This is done over time with consistency to try and speak in love even if it is in truth.

As parents, we are role models to our children. As adults we can be influential just as well towards one another.

Will it be for the good or for the bad?

Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. (Psalm 34:12, 13 NKJV)

Yesterday and today marked another day of life being taken away and another of being brought into the world. What type of impact have we contributed to society?

I went to bed last night mourning and woke up still mourning over a child I never met yet I stand in hope that peace and comfort will be found in the lives of those who loved the deceased.

My daughter who is 12 yrs old came home in tears yesterday to tell me that a classmate who was bullied committed suicide. He hung himself. It was by WORDS that smothered his heart and mind while trying to fight a battle of evil that he succumbed to death. He could not overcome the pain anymore. Assumptions that he was gay went around in talk when he was not what others claimed him to be.

Gossip leads to destruction if it is not stopped.

Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you. (Luke 6:37, 38 NKJV)

This young man would have turned 13 yrs old next week, his birth mother was coming back into his life and he was trying to learn more about the Lord from what I was told. Life has stopped in his mortal body. The Bible he carried and read in his backpack will not be used any longer. By him that is. I pray that someone else will take the Holy Word and put it to use. It is our manual for holy living. It is our comfort and daily help, it is our guide and armor to use against evil and the dark principalities of this world.

Help.

When will we begin to take life more seriously? When will we start becoming more selfless than selfish? When will we begin to live more like Christ being the hands, feet and mouthpieces?

When will we take a stand for what’s right? When will we take our backs off the wall and stop being cowards? If we love people and seek righteousness then it is time to live it out even if it means losing people in our lives who do not agree with what the Bible teaches us.

Lets not wait until a situation hits close to home before we move or speak out. Tomorrow isn’t promised to you or to myself. In all things said and done, may it be centered around The Lord and prayed about. We have been given common sense as well so we ought to use it.

We will be held accountable on judgement day. How will we answer?

May our words be for edifying rather than tearing down. There is enough cruelty in the world, enough history to reflect upon to hopefully want to make a change. Satan can care less about any of us. He’s about stealing, killing and destroying and will use anything or anyone to accomplish his plans.

God bless those all around the world suffering. Whether its in body or in mind, I pray that we as His children will become more proactive in lip service. Someone’s life can be changed for the better.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14 KJV)

Breaking Up Fallow Ground: Dig Deep and Wide

Dear Father God, I pray in the name of Jesus that whomever this is meant for will receive this wholeheartedly. There is a breakthrough on the way. I bind any negativity that will try to stand in the way of the souls who need to hear and receive from You. Thank You for another day to make a difference. Bless each and every person who is able to make a change in their life through Christ Jesus if they just deny themselves and surrender to Your will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Dear believers, it’s time to get to work. Our Lord and Savior needs us to be about His business. Time is of the essence. Turn that uncultivated land into cultivated. There is a great harvest ahead! Scripture tell us :

Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you. (Hosea 10;12 )

For thus says the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem: ” Break up your ground left uncultivated for a season, so that you may not sow among thorns.” (Jeremiah 4:3 )

In order to sow good seeds, we must let go of anything that is keeping us from our full potential of walking with Christ. There are things that need to be weeded out….. bitterness, unforgiveness, a hard heart and any matter of such that doesn’t allow us to move forward. You want to bear good fruit right? Ask God to remove anything from you that is just pure junk. I’m calling it junk because it needs to go to the trash. It’s doing nothing more than cluttering your mind and your heart. In no way am I trying to be mean or not understanding because I’ve been there. If you have been following my blog then you know that I have had to release A LOT of things in order to grow. Cast your cares upon the the Lord and let your case be made known. Holding on to matters that is beyond your control will not help you. I can not and will not sugarcoat the Truth. By doing so, I am not helping you at all. Speaking in love and truth is the only way.

In Matthew chapter 13, Jesus tells a parable about a sower. He says that he ( the sower ) went out to sow some seeds and some fell along the path that were devoured by the birds because the Word was heard and not understood.( the enemy will come and snatch was was sown on the heart ), some sown on rocky ground in which the Word was was heard and received with joy but because there was no deep root to keep it flourishing, it died off.( when afflictions, persecutions and troubles come upon you, stumbling happens. You begin to waiver in your trust, your faith, doubting that God will come help you ) Then there were seeds sown among thorns. The Word was heard but the cares of THIS world choked and suffocated it. ( the riches, pleasures, decietfulness, etc.) and it proved unfruitful. Now we come to the seeds that were sown on good soil. The Word was heard and understood. It took ROOT. Now I have paraphrased this as to cut down on typing out the entire chapter. The clue I am giving: please read this chapter in full for yourself. Let God’s Word take root in your heart. Read His Word every day, study it and let it bear much fruit. Gain a clear understanding of His will for you and your purpose in life as a His beloved child. Pray and ask for understanding.  He will provide it for you.

As for what was sown on good soil, this is he who hears the Word and grasps and comprehends it; he indeed bears fruit and yields in one case a hundred times as much as was sown, in another sixty times as much, and in another thirty. ( Matthew 13;23 AMP )

Examine your hearts and see what is revealed. It may be a hard thing to do but if you are truly honest with yourself and want to please the Lord, then being obedient to His will and his way rather than your own is the best wayt to go. The Lord wants to do so much for you and through you. Don’t just be a Hearer of the Word, be a Doer of the Word.

I love you and want to see and hear of your growth in the Lord. May the seeds you sow grow and flourish like never before. I’m praying for you! Now go put on your gloves and prepare to get dirty cause it’s time to clean house! I believe in you. If I can do it, so can you.

Be strong and encouraged in the Lord. You can do all things through Him.

All for His glory,

Terra

Breaking Me of My Own Will

Heavenly Father, I pray that your will, your way and your Word be embedded within my heart to reach out to those who need and seek you. I pray that your strength, comfort, blessings and your abounding love moves gently yet swiftly over your children. Remove the spiritual blinders that we carry that blocks us from receiving all that you have for us. Break us of our own will that we may be made perfect in You. May we seek righteousness, show compassion, be merciful and show grace towards others even when we feel that that they don’t deserve it. We are not in a place to judge anyone. You are the Judge, the Ruler. My God in heaven, remove the shackles that weigh us down and slows up our process in doing your will for our lives. May we strive to be a living example to those around us in a Christlike manner. I speak with authority in Christ Jesus that any negative seeds planted be uprooted and removed. I bind up everything that Satan tries to use against us to keep us from doing your will. I pray healing and deliverance from the crown of our heads to the souls of our feet. In Jesus name, Amen.
Where do I begin from here. Well today (actually this morning) has been challenging within itself to some degree. Emotional roadblocks here and there. Detours, twist and turns from out the blue. Geez, I wasn’t sure if things were going to get better. Well, I knew they would as long as I stayed focused and didn’t allow the troubles of the world to control and dictate my day. I know I can always count on God to bring me through the smallest things, knowing that He has moved mountains in my life before as well as storms that raged and blew mightily when I didn’t think I could recover from, but He did. Okay Terra, here we go again with being shaped and molded. I didn’t realize it at the time. He is creating a new woman in me. I am being refined by The Potter. It sounds lovely but it ain’t pretty y’all! Just think about pottery and everything that needs to take place in order to make it what the creator designed it to be! Amazing.
Whoa, let me save that subject for another time. That sounds like some good stuff. ( smiling )
Let me get back on track. God is breaking me of my own will. This must take place in order for me to change bad habits, ways of thinking and doing. I must tell you that He is right up in my face! God may show himself in suttle ways and then BAM! There are times when you know he is on your case. That was me today. Feeling a litte flustered and moody. Sometimes it can be the smallest things that can set us off. Dumb stuff at that! I can laugh about it now, but during a time of stubborn mind thinking I wanted to have MY WAY. It felt good to feel that way though I know it was wrong and I was determined to have just that. ” Oh no you won’t ” is what  I heard as I was driving down the highway. As a parent corrects a child for their own good, God was doing just that in me. He was not about to let me throw a fit over something that I just needed to take time to pray about and let go until a way was found to deal with such matter. In my mind I was thinking and kinda acting bratty saying ” Omgosh, are you serious?!! Ugh. Fine then. Good grief! ” Needless to say, I let the matter of the heart go because I know His plan has a greater purpose than letting me have my way. Yes conviction set in and I just road the rest of the way to my destination reflecting. It was for my own good that I yielded. Ahh. I relaxed and smiled from that point. Why fight. I wasn’t going to win anyway! Might as well hear, receive and learn an on-the-go lesson. A seed was planted. Now as to how I care and tend to that seed is up to me. I want to reap a good harvest, so I will choose to take care of it properly day by day.
In this, I want you to know that there is nothing wrong with having your will broken. We don’t know what’s best for us. Thankfully God does. Breaking of our own will is truly needed to grow. If we want to see a change then just ask God to help you do something you can’t do own your own if He doesn’t do it for you. I think he gives us chances to do it the easy way in so many words but if we chose to ignore, he will likley break us down to get our attention. Just like a good parent should do, He will dicipline us for our own good. Be encouraged and know God will work it out. Whatever it may be.
Thank you Lord for showing and allowing me to see where I was wrong so I could move forward. I pray the same for everyone that they too shall receive and reap a good harvest after their will has been broken and yours has taken it’s place. In love I thank you for teaching me what’s right.
