Be Wise in Speech and Action

From a wise mind comes wise speech; the words of the wise are persuasive. Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. (Proverbs 16:23, 24 NLT)

Our words and actions will either make us or break us. This stands to be true because they can affect others.

In the Book of James, scriptures tells us: For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. (James 3:2-10, 13-18 NKJV)

In today’s world, we need more love. Agape love. We need more wise people living the example Christ Jesus set before us. No we are not perfect. This I know. Christ alone is perfect. He set the example. He lived, walked and talked with wisdom.

This is something we all can benefit from. Our Heavenly Father will give it to us if we ask. Question is what will we do with it if we receive it.

Wisdom
How much better to get wisdom than gold, and good judgment than silver! The path of the virtuous leads away from evil; whoever follows that path is safe. Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall. (Proverbs 16:16-18 NLT)

Be wise, be encouraging and be a light of truth, integrity and faith. I pray that your lips may be filled with peaceful and encouraging words and that your heart be full of mercy, love and compassion.

A PRETTY FENCE IS JUST A DRESSED UP AND HARMFUL LIE

Invitation to the Thirsty

1“Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
2
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and you will delight in the richest of fare.
3
Give ear and come to me;
listen, that you may live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
my faithful love promised to David.
4
See, I have made him a witness to the peoples,
a ruler and commander of the peoples.
5
Surely you will summon nations you know not,
and nations you do not know will come running to you,
because of the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel,
for he has endowed you with splendor.”

6
Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
7
Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

8
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
9
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10
As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
12
You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.
13
Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper,
and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the Lord’s renown,
for an everlasting sign,
that will endure forever.” (Isaiah 55 NIV)

Now is the time to reconcile ourselves back to Christ more than ever. This world is becoming more and more evil. So much is at stake. This applies to believers and sinners alike. How long can we run away from the righteous things before we fall into a pit? There is nothing good that can come from the sinful desires we lust after.

Material possessions, relationships that are unhealthy and/or forbidden, lifestyles and any other god that takes precedence to the Lord that should be cast away should be ridden of. Being ostentatious, taking a fancy to idolatry and giving higher praise to things and people we place above the Lord is simply wrong and a sin. Even our time we give away can be out of line. We know what is right and we know what is wrong yet we still want to ride the fence.

God is a jealous God will have no other gods before him.

* “for you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God), (Exodus 34:14 NKJV)

Must we play roulette with his grace? Where is the reverence, what happened to our integrity, our morals and values? Where did the covenant go that we made with the Lord after we received salvation?

20120606-152952.jpg

We snippet things here and there just to have the “best of both worlds” when we are actually playing with fire. How soon will it be before we are consumed entirely? I hope it’s never.

When we know right, we should do right. Count the cost. May we live out what we declare. Let’s not conform to the ways of the world.

* “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”(Romans 12:2 NKJV)

If your heart cries for what is noble and trustworthy, righteous and upright, lean not to the thoughts and ways that lead to destruction. Do not fall into the snare ( trap ) laid down by lies, deceit, false beauty and gain. Refrain from being seduced by worldly matters and monetary gain.

Every measure of good and bad will be judged by the Almighty God.

It’s time to make a change. Who do we love more? Whom will we serve? There cannot be two masters in our lives. We will either serve the Lord or serve the deceiver.

* Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted by God; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. (James 1:12-18 NKJV)

May we press forward and not look backwards. Friends and family alike may not agree with you. They may even turn their backs on you because they do not understand the goodness of the Lord and the holiness that he requires of us.

The Word tells us:
Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, Be holy, for I am holy. (1 Peter 1:13-16 NKJV)

We may not turn into a pillar of salt like Lot’s wife in these modern days (Genesis 19:26 NKJV) but I encourage you to take heed to the promptings of the Holy Spirit when conviction comes upon you. Do not look back at what you think you may be missing out on when blessings are plenteous ahead of you if you just stay faithful.

Allow the Lord to balance your life in all aspects.

Think on it and walk it out.

Breaking Up Fallow Ground: Dig Deep and Wide

Dear Father God, I pray in the name of Jesus that whomever this is meant for will receive this wholeheartedly. There is a breakthrough on the way. I bind any negativity that will try to stand in the way of the souls who need to hear and receive from You. Thank You for another day to make a difference. Bless each and every person who is able to make a change in their life through Christ Jesus if they just deny themselves and surrender to Your will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Dear believers, it’s time to get to work. Our Lord and Savior needs us to be about His business. Time is of the essence. Turn that uncultivated land into cultivated. There is a great harvest ahead! Scripture tell us :

Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you. (Hosea 10;12 )

For thus says the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem: ” Break up your ground left uncultivated for a season, so that you may not sow among thorns.” (Jeremiah 4:3 )

In order to sow good seeds, we must let go of anything that is keeping us from our full potential of walking with Christ. There are things that need to be weeded out….. bitterness, unforgiveness, a hard heart and any matter of such that doesn’t allow us to move forward. You want to bear good fruit right? Ask God to remove anything from you that is just pure junk. I’m calling it junk because it needs to go to the trash. It’s doing nothing more than cluttering your mind and your heart. In no way am I trying to be mean or not understanding because I’ve been there. If you have been following my blog then you know that I have had to release A LOT of things in order to grow. Cast your cares upon the the Lord and let your case be made known. Holding on to matters that is beyond your control will not help you. I can not and will not sugarcoat the Truth. By doing so, I am not helping you at all. Speaking in love and truth is the only way.

In Matthew chapter 13, Jesus tells a parable about a sower. He says that he ( the sower ) went out to sow some seeds and some fell along the path that were devoured by the birds because the Word was heard and not understood.( the enemy will come and snatch was was sown on the heart ), some sown on rocky ground in which the Word was was heard and received with joy but because there was no deep root to keep it flourishing, it died off.( when afflictions, persecutions and troubles come upon you, stumbling happens. You begin to waiver in your trust, your faith, doubting that God will come help you ) Then there were seeds sown among thorns. The Word was heard but the cares of THIS world choked and suffocated it. ( the riches, pleasures, decietfulness, etc.) and it proved unfruitful. Now we come to the seeds that were sown on good soil. The Word was heard and understood. It took ROOT. Now I have paraphrased this as to cut down on typing out the entire chapter. The clue I am giving: please read this chapter in full for yourself. Let God’s Word take root in your heart. Read His Word every day, study it and let it bear much fruit. Gain a clear understanding of His will for you and your purpose in life as a His beloved child. Pray and ask for understanding.  He will provide it for you.

As for what was sown on good soil, this is he who hears the Word and grasps and comprehends it; he indeed bears fruit and yields in one case a hundred times as much as was sown, in another sixty times as much, and in another thirty. ( Matthew 13;23 AMP )

Examine your hearts and see what is revealed. It may be a hard thing to do but if you are truly honest with yourself and want to please the Lord, then being obedient to His will and his way rather than your own is the best wayt to go. The Lord wants to do so much for you and through you. Don’t just be a Hearer of the Word, be a Doer of the Word.

I love you and want to see and hear of your growth in the Lord. May the seeds you sow grow and flourish like never before. I’m praying for you! Now go put on your gloves and prepare to get dirty cause it’s time to clean house! I believe in you. If I can do it, so can you.

Be strong and encouraged in the Lord. You can do all things through Him.

All for His glory,

Terra
